Make a difference as a Team Manager
As a ‘Good’ authority following our recent OFSTED Inspection we are seeking to recruit to the permanent role of Team Manager within the Family Help and Protection Service to help us continue to provide quality support to our children and families in St Helens.
The Family Help and Protection Service is responsible for children subject to child in need, child protection plans and care proceedings after the assessment has been completed to determine the right plan for the child and family. This post is located in Family Help and Protection Team 4 and includes an Assistant Team Manager, 6 Social Workers and 1 Social Work Assistant. The team has been well established over a long period of time and the current post holder will be available to provide handover and support to the successful applicant. This is one of a Management Team of 11 Managers who work well together and provide support and assistance to each other.
To apply for this post you will need to have a Social Work Qualification and be registered with SW England.
You will need a minimum of three years post qualifying experience and two years working with children and families. You will need to have experience of providing supervision.
This is an exciting opportunity to support practice improvement and the quality of services provided to children and families. You will receive regular supervision and frequent opportunities to be involved in activities both internal and external to the Borough. About the Role As a key member of our Inclusion Service, you will provide targeted communication support to children and young people with hearing needs across a variety of settings, including homes, mainstream schools, and specialist provisions. Working under the guidance of the Lead Practitioner, you will support pupils and their families in developing signing as a primary mode of communication, helping to improve educational outcomes.
What We’re Looking For We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced practitioner who is:

<li>We are looking for a Compliance, Communication and Policy Officer to support our Education Partnership team.&nbsp;You will be passionate about upholding high educational standards by ensuring compliance within local authority statutory functions, working closely with schools, governors, and stakeholders providing expert advice, guidance, and support alignment with national and local expectations, promoting quality education for all</li>
<li>As a key representative for the Local Authority, the Compliance, Communication, and Policy Officer will engage with regional and national education forums, contributing to strategic planning and school improvement.&nbsp;Your role is crucial in delivering policy updates and offering guidance to educational partners, ensuring alignment with best practices and regulatory standards</li>
<li>The role of the Compliance, Communication, and Policy Officer is to serve as the primary liaison for education policy updates, ensuring clear and accessible communication of key changes from national and regional bodies.&nbsp;Supporting schools in implementing the RE syllabus and advising SACRE and overseeing educational visits</li>
<li>As Compliance, Communication, and Policy Officer, the post holder will have relevant qualifications and experience in education policy and compliance, strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills, and a commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.&nbsp;They will excel in organising events, training educational staff and governors, and leveraging digital tools for effective communication and data management</li>
