You will be an experienced Building Control Officer with professional membership of CABE or RICS.&nbsp;
Candidates will need to be accredited as a competent surveyor at Class 2 commercial level or working towards their accreditation.&nbsp; Assistance will be provided in gaining accreditation and we are committed to providing training opportunities to maintain your Continuing Professional Development.
You should also be a good communicator with a forward thinking enthusiastic attitude, highly motivated, innovative and customer-orientated.&nbsp;
Crucial to your role will ensure that our service users maintain compliance with building control regulations.&nbsp; You’ll carry out plan evaluations, undertake site visits, and provide effective advice to the service’s users.

We are looking to appoint an Estates Surveyor to join Pendle Council’s Property &amp; Engineering Services team. In this pivotal role, you will provide a professional valuation and surveying service and support managing a diverse range of council-owned land and properties.
The Role
<ul>
<li>Undertake valuations, disposals, and acquisitions of land and property in line with the Council’s objectives.</li>
<li>Manage Council-owned industrial estates, shops, offices, and commercial premises, ensuring effective marketing and maximum revenue generation.</li>
<li>Advise on a variety of commercial property-related matters, including preparing Committee reports and providing guidance to Elected Members.</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies, maintaining strong relationships with internal colleagues, external partners, and members of the public.</li>
<li>Assist in budget preparation and maintain accurate records for operational expenditure.</li>
</ul>
About You
<ul>
<li>You must be a Chartered Surveyor with current membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and be a Registered Valuer.</li>
<li>Substantial post-qualification experience in commercial estate management is essential, together with knowledge of relevant legislation and policies.</li>
<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills are vital, along with the ability to plan, organise, and meet deadlines.</li>
<li>Experience in working effectively within a political environment or familiarity with CPO and Landlord &amp; Tenant legislation is desirable.</li>

Charity Retail eBay Volunteer &nbsp; Be there when it matters as a Sue Ryder Volunteer
As a Retail eBay Volunteer in one of our Sue Ryder charity shops, you will identify and research a range of products that have been donated ready to be listed on the Sue Ryder eBay page to maximise revenue.
This role requires a keen eye for items that can make more online than in the shop. In this role you will be one of the store’s friendly faces who will help us to provide the best customer experience whilst playing an important role in raising funds for our charity work.
The Role: • Researching and value items • Photograph items to sell • Preparing items for dispatch to the ebay hub • Sorting, labelling, pricing of stock • Write descriptions for item listings • Greeting and helping customers • Light cleaning/tidying duties to keep the shop inviting and well presented
 About you: • Enjoy helping and engaging with customers • Competent with IT &amp; a good level of literacy • Ability to work as part of a team • Reliable • Have similar experience using eBay or equivalent Ecommerce platforms. &nbsp; Working as a volunteer at one of our Sue Ryder shops is not only a rewarding way to learn new and transferable skills but also a fantastic chance to make new friends and become part of your local community.
