The esssential criteria for the role includes:

The role involves working as part of a wider team to provide high quality environmental maintenance services including maintaining council sports pitches / School sports fields and beaches, side arm safety sway cutting and hedge cutting on the district’s highways.
You will also be responsible for carrying out HGV Hiab work when required.
The role includes litter management, clearing of fly tipping, chewing gum removal, graffiti removal, leaf clearance, cleaning up of spillages, amenity grass cutting, hard landscaping, dyke management, washing of street furniture, playground installation, weed growth, and cultivating of the districts bedding areas.
You must possess good communication skills, have the ability to learn quickly and undertake a range of duties with minimum of supervision.
The nature of the position means that inevitably you will be required to work in all weather conditions. Personal Protective Equipment will be provided. &nbsp;
This is a permanent post, working 37 hours per week on a shift rota basis, to include evenings, weekends and bank holidays in line with business need, including undertaking standby duties to cover out of hours work.

The Role
We are currently wanting to expand our Repairs and Maintenance Team. The post holder must have an NVQ level 3 or equivalent certificate in Plastering. The Repairs and Maintenance Department has the responsibility for carrying out responsive and planned maintenance works, and void management works to Lancaster City Council’s housing and non-housing stock. In order to improve service levels, meet performance targets and increase the working base, the section is recruiting a Plasterer/Tiler.
A full current driving licence is also essential. The post holder will be required to work a transient role around the district, as they will have to travel between locations and travel within the Council’s designated area. As a result, you will be required to sign up to the authorised external DVLA driving licence validation organisation that we use to manage and monitor our employees’ driving licence data.
The successful candidate will be subject to a basic clearance with the Disclosure &amp; Barring Service.
This post is permanent, based at White Lund Depot.
The post hours are 37 hours per week (Monday to Thursday, 8.00am to 4.30pm, and Friday, 8.00am to 3.30pm), however you are required for operational purposes to work 39 hours per week. As this is in excess of the standard 37-hour week, you will accrue 1 day’s leave for every 20 days worked.&nbsp;

We are looking for a professional who can produce clear and comprehensive written work including key policy documents such as Development Plan Documents, Supplementary Planning Documents and Planning Advice Notes and writing reports.&nbsp;&nbsp; We are looking for a confident speaker with great presentation skills and work alongside other team members at stakeholder engagement and public consultation events as well as presenting complex information in a clear and concise way to a wide range of audiences.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Developing and maintaining working relationships with other professionals within the Planning and Climate Change service, other council services and external bodies is a pre-requisite in this role, and will include providing support to colleagues in the Development Management team so that planning applications are determined in a timely way with robust information provided on meeting local housing need and by supporting our colleagues in housing teams to realise the council’s housing and regeneration priorities for Lancaster district.&nbsp;
About You

HOUSING OPTIONS ADVISOR
GRADE 6/7 £29,093 - £34,314
In April 2023, Wyre Council appointed a new and ambitious Chief Executive to lead the council’s next chapter and a focus on a brand new and ambitious Council Plan.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our expanding Housing Options Team working as part of the frontline team, providing advice and assistance to clients who present to the service as either homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
We are looking to recruit a full time permanent Housing Options Advisor to undertake homeless assessments and make legal decisions to clients presenting to the service.
Working in Housing Options provides an opportunity to make a real difference to people in need of help and makes a fundamental difference to our local community.
What you’ll be doing:
<ul>
<li>Preventing homelessness by offering innovative solutions to help clients to either remain in their homes or to help them find alternative accommodation.</li>
<li>Using problem solving and analytical skills to interpret and apply homeless legislation</li>
<li>Working as part of a team to produce innovative solutions and be forward thinking to help develop the service.</li>
</ul>
What you’ll need:
<ul>
<li>Experience of carrying out robust enquiries.</li>
<li>Competency to decide homelessness applications with a good understanding of Part VII Housing Act 1996 (as amended), the code of guidance and case law or substantial experience of preventing homelessness with a particular focus on the private rented sector.</li>
<li>The ability to provide excellent outcomes for vulnerable clients, and high-quality customer service.</li>
<li>A full current UK driving licence.</li>
<li>An enhanced clearance with the Disclosure and Barring Service (paid for by us)</li>
</ul>
