The Finance Team are responsible for oversight of all Income and Expenditure within the Council supporting all departments to deliver value for money.
The Finance Business Partner will support designated teams within the Council, providing accurate and timely advice across a range of services to support with budgets, projects and procurement.
If you are AAT qualified /CCAB part qualified or qualified by experience, have relevant in a financial environment (ideally in a local government environment) and experience of analysing and interpreting data using Excel, we would love to hear from you. Harborough District Council is looking for a highly motivated individual, to work within Regulatory Services as an Environmental Health Officer. In this role you will be working within the Environment Team that is responsible for enforcing Pollution Control and Private Sector Housing and the Housing Team that is responsible for dealing with homelessness and landlord/tenant issues.
The main focus of this post is to work on the implementation of the new Housing legislation due to be brought in under the Renter’s Rights Bill. You will be expected to take the lead on both the implementation of and the enforcement of the new legislation. You will be experienced in local authority governance to facilitate the introduction of the new legislation including a landlord’s database and civil penalties policy. You will also be trained in PACE and the enforcement of housing legislation including civil penalties. You will be expected to undertake inspections and investigations of private sector housing under the Housing Act 2004 using HHSRS, enforce HMO’s and be able to deal with landlord/tenant issues.
You will have experience of communicating confidently with a range of people in a customer facing role and will be able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills. You will be able to work under your own initiative and will be able to identify innovative solutions to challenges. You will have skills in MS Office and a desire to gain technical knowledge. You will be appropriately qualified with a Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health (or equivalent qualification) and registered with the Environmental Health Officer’s Registration Board (or equivalent). Ideally you will have recent enforcement experience in the fields appropriate to the post. Additional qualifications in the relevant areas of private sector housing would be an advantage. Training opportunities will be provided.
Occasional work outside office hours may be required.&nbsp; You will need a valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle. Clearance by the Disclosure and Barring Service is required for this post as well as Police Vetting.

The Opportunity&nbsp;
Reporting to the Principal Officer - Investment, this is a key role in the successful management of the Housing Stock data of over 5700 properties.&nbsp; You will be responsible for the surveying, collation and management of the stock data as well as the analysis of the data to assist in the planning and implementation of the capital works programmes.
The role requires a detailed knowledge of building construction methods and materials backed up with a formal qualification, the ability to identify and diagnose defects and arrive at appropriate solutions as well as experience of undertaking stock condition surveys.
You must also be able to work with stock data and systems, managing data and assisting in the creation of programmes for future capital works programmes to ensure continued compliance with DHS and other statutory requirements.
This is an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of the Asset Team which focuses in delivering panned works programmes ensuring an excellent service to our customers.
Key Tasks&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>Collation analysis and effective use of stock condition information from a range of surveys on all property assets including occupied dwellings, void dwellings, commercial buildings, garages, communal areas and public spaces.</li>
<li>Carrying out stock condition and related surveys - including Housing Health &amp; Safety Rating System (HHSRS) surveys.</li>
<li>Contribution to the development of comprehensive and accurate stock condition information to support short, and long-term asset management planning.</li>
<li>Ensuring results of surveys are accurately recorded in the asset management system, in a timely manner, using hand-held data capture equipment.</li>
<li>Effective organisational, planning and report writing skills.</li>
<li>Full and clean driving licence with access to a vehicle to undertake site visits.</li>
<li>Delivery of an effective and appropriate service to all service users, fairly and without discrimination.</li>
</ul>

Charnwood Borough Council in Leicestershire is searching for the latest member of the Landlord Services Team&nbsp;.We are looking for a passionate individual who is customer focused, a team player and wants help improve our local communities in Charnwood.&nbsp;Our ideal candidate will have excellent organisational skills, be computer literate and work well within a team of like-minded individuals .If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, have a positive attitude and want to make a real difference to our customers every day, then we would like to hear from you! &nbsp; The Role &nbsp; The Principal Officer Repairs will play a lead role in the successful management of the Responsive repairs team. &nbsp; With the ability to successfully work in partnership, you will ensure that our customers’ objectives around high quality, communication, and customer care are met.&nbsp; You will ensure that repairs are delivered in line with agreed budgets, and that key performance indicators are met.&nbsp; &nbsp; The role requires the candidate to demonstrate substantial experience and knowledge of the current legislation of responsive repairs and preferably hold a degree level education or the ability to demonstrate equivalent experience as set out in the person specification and hold a clean driving licence and have access to a vehicle to undertake duties on site. &nbsp; You will also have experience of managing and supervising a team of Repairs Team Leaders and a Mould and Disrepair Co-ordinator . &nbsp; The benefits of working with us:&nbsp;

RUTLAND COUNTY COUNCIL
VACANCY FOR INDEPENDENT MEMBER – AUDIT AND RISK COMMITTEE
Rutland County Council is committed to the highest standards of corporate governance, and our Audit and Risk Committee is a key part of ensuring that we meet those standards. The Council is currently looking to appoint an independent co-opted member of the Committee, to become a part of its work in promoting excellence in governance, risk management, financial reporting and counter fraud.
Independent Members will be expected to actively participate in meetings of the Audit and Risk Committee and demonstrate independence, integrity, objectivity and impartiality in their decision-making. As part of this rewarding role, they will support the Council’s Audit and Risk Committee in providing independent assurance to the members of Rutland County Council, and its wider citizens and stakeholders.
Independent Members are non-voting members of the Committee, who assist in overseeing internal and external audit arrangements, reviewing and scrutinising statement of accounts, and reviewing and assessing the governance, risk management and control of the authority.

The appointment is for three years. Co-opted independent members do not receive an allowance but are entitled to claim for reasonable travelling and subsistence expenses in undertaking their role.&nbsp;
Successful candidates will be expected to attend approximately four ordinary meetings per year plus any additional special meetings called for matters of urgency. The meetings currently take place at the council offices, Catmose House, Oakham. They will also need to commit sufficient time to read Committee papers in advance of these meetings, liaise with the Chair and to undertake occasional training alongside the other Committee members.
