Working for an ambitious authority that is well and truly on the map, no two days will be the same. Located on the edge of London and at the heart of the Thames Estuary growth area, significant transport improvements and parking management schemes are required to support the high levels of growth taking place.
\n
Major transformational developments are being progressed across the Borough, in particular at Dartford Town Centre and Ebbsfleet Garden City. In parallel, the Council is developing its parking management plans to effectively manage the increasing demand on the highway for parking. There are particular pressures in and around Dartford Town Centre. The challenge is to design a scheme which deals with the multiple impacts of commuter parking near a transport hub, workers and visitors in the town centre and increasing pressure from new development.
\n
We are looking for a Transport Officer, on a fixed contract, to support the Principal Transport Planner to deliver comprehensive schemes to address these issues. As a career graded post, you will be appointed at the appropriate level and salary depending on the experience you hold.
\n
As the Transport Officer, you will play a key role in the development of area-wide schemes and implementation plans as well as helping to drive consultation with the public, management of the programme, administration and assist with the survey work.
\n
You will have experience in the transport or highway field and ideally a proven record of programme management of projects, in particular, transport or parking related. Experience of undertaking public consultation, including public meetings and exhibitions, is desirable. You will be proficient at using Microsoft Office and GIS based applications. Knowledge of the use of ParkMap will be desirable as there will be specific focus on the Traffic Regulations Order process for progressing parking schemes. Strong knowledge of project management principles and implementation is required and you will have a good understanding of public involvement in local projects.
\n
This is an area of work with strong public and political interest. For both posts, strong communication, team and partnership working skills are essential. You will need to be responsive to issues raised through consultation. In addition, you must be willing to try new ideas, meet commitments, be adaptable and take pride in working for the Council. If you enjoy a challenge and like to make a positive contribution, we would love to hear from you.
\n
Benefits
\n
Post attracts a career average pension scheme, professional fee payment, flexible working including some remote working, free parking, employee benefits package and generous leave entitlement. The Council’s offices are in a highly accessible location, next to Dartford station with frequent services from Central London (Oyster Card coverage) and North Kent. Road connections via the M25 and A2 are also excellent.
\n
Please call Lukman Agboola on 01322 343410 if you have any questions about the vacancy.
","shortDescription":"","salaryDescription":"£29,982 - £38,660 PA, increasing to £32,652 – £40,996 PA following 12 months satisfactory performance","publishDate":"2024-10-29T13:07:00.000Z","expirationDate":"2024-12-01T23:59:00.000Z","logoUri":"https://www.jobsgopublic.com/logos/logos/5ad2e6e4-bd04-4876-9ad1-30f225584b53.png","score":1,"featured":false,"enhanced":false}],"totalResults":46,"page":1,"pageSize":20,"facets":{"ContractType":{"1":39,"2":3,"3":1,"5":3},"WorkingPatterns":{"1":34,"2":11,"3":6,"4":2,"5":1,"6":2},"EmployerType":{"education":8,"local government":37,"other":1},"PublishDate":{"1":5,"2":7,"3":19,"4":34,"5":46},"JobTypes":{"administration":6,"benefits and revenues":1,"building control":1,"business intelligence":1,"commissioning":1,"customer service":1,"education":8,"finance":2,"health and safety":4,"housing":4,"it support":2,"maintenance":1,"security":2,"social care":15,"social work":7,"teaching":2,"tourism":1,"transport":1},"LocationType":{"2":21,"3":25}},"randomNumber":0,"noOfFeaturedJobs":0,"bounds":[{"lat":51.416782,"lng":0.4493099},{"lat":51.34528,"lng":0.4493099},{"lat":51.34528,"lng":0.5237779},{"lat":51.416782,"lng":0.5237779},{"lat":51.416782,"lng":0.4493099}],"error":null}},"dataUpdateCount":1,"dataUpdatedAt":1730821122475,"error":null,"errorUpdateCount":0,"errorUpdatedAt":0,"fetchFailureCount":0,"fetchFailureReason":null,"fetchMeta":null,"isInvalidated":false,"status":"success","fetchStatus":"idle"},"queryKey":["jobs",null,"rochester",null,null,{},{"contractType":[],"workingPatterns":[],"locationType":[],"jobTypes":[],"employerType":[],"datePosted":5},2,1],"queryHash":"[\"jobs\",null,\"rochester\",null,null,{},{\"contractType\":[],\"datePosted\":5,\"employerType\":[],\"jobTypes\":[],\"locationType\":[],\"workingPatterns\":[]},2,1]"},{"state":{"data":null,"dataUpdateCount":1,"dataUpdatedAt":1730821122319,"error":null,"errorUpdateCount":0,"errorUpdatedAt":0,"fetchFailureCount":0,"fetchFailureReason":null,"fetchMeta":null,"isInvalidated":false,"status":"success","fetchStatus":"idle"},"queryKey":["jobTypesAutocomplete",null],"queryHash":"[\"jobTypesAutocomplete\",null]"}]}
