We are looking to recruit a highly motivated Environmental Health Officer to join our Food and Health &amp; Safety Team. This role will involve a wide range of regulatory functions, balancing proportionate enforcement interventions with providing advice and support to our local businesses.
You will be carrying out food hygiene inspections, service requests, reactive and proactive health and safety enforcement, infectious disease controls, complaint investigations, approved premises inspections and enforcement work.&nbsp; You must be experienced in carrying out food hygiene official controls and the preparation and service of statutory notices and prosecutions.
You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and a commitment to providing good customer care.&nbsp; You will also have excellent interpersonal skills and be a great team player.&nbsp; The successful candidate must be able to travel throughout the borough to attend site visits as required by the role.&nbsp; We are an agile organisation working flexibly from home and the office in a hybrid work pattern, so you will need to be self-motivated and be able to work well independently.

The successful candidate will also support and advise council officers and members in respect of Data Protection and Freedom of Information as well as advising at planning and licensing committees, providing a comprehensive legal service to the Council at all times. The post holder will undertake the full range of civil and criminal litigation and regulatory law work including complex drafting, conducting hearings and appearing as an advocate on behalf of the Council. Substantial experience of complex legal case work, legislation and procedure in the magistrates and civil courts is essential for this role along with excellent communication skills.&nbsp;
