The wide range of species, and the habitats they rely on, contributes considerably to the county's economy and the quality of life of those living, working and visiting Kent. Over the coming years, the conservation and enhancement of this valuable natural heritage faces significant challenges from growth, changes to land management and use, and the impacts of climate change. </p><p>Our Biodiversity Officers help the County Council, and Kent’s districts planning authorities, address these challenges by providing specialist ecological advice across a range of functions, particularly development management and forward planning.
