<h4>Field1</h4>Job Title: Site Officers - Gypsy and Traveller Service Starting Salary: £31,537 opportunity to progress to £34,434 pa per annum (pro rata for part time) Hours: 37.0 Location: Hertfordshire/Covering 11 sites Contract Type: Permanent Directorate: Resources<h4>About the team</h4>Join our highly regarded Gypsy &amp; Traveller service within a leading local authority.We are a busy operational team that works on a range of maintenance projects for our tenants, who live on our 10 residential sites across HertfordshireOur team makes a real difference to our tenants by providing a maintenance service to their plot, the sanitary facilities and surrounding areas.The 11 sites are in the following locations:Sites:CheshuntTringHemel HempsteadWatford x 2BarnetSt Albans x 3StevenageHatfield<h4>About the role</h4><ul><li>Main base is Stevenage, although your day will be planned around the needs of the sites. We are a county wide service</li><li>As well as the store at Head Office, each gypsy and traveller site has an equipped site office where you can prepare for your day and access materials needed.</li><li>Work is varied&nbsp; - carrying out fence repairs, plumbing fixtures to maintaining brick work and pre planned maintenance</li><li>Maintaining tidiness in public areas, and to encourage tenants to keep their plots presentable</li><li>You will required to take the on-call phone one week in every eight as part of our of hours service. The out of hours cover a 7 day week and are: 16:00pm – 08:00am Monday to Friday and 24 hours a day on Saturday and Sunday.</li><li>Carrying out reactive/ emergency maintenance as well as planned improvements on our residential sites</li><li>You will have access to a manual vehicle to travel to sites</li><li>Tools are provided</li></ul>Please click on below link to see what a typical day working on site consists of:Day in the life of a Gypsy and Traveler Site Maintenance person<h4>About you</h4>Essential:<ul><li>Work Record of general maintenance skills and experience.</li><li>Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills</li><li>A full manual driving licence</li><li>Excellent customer service skills</li></ul>Desirable:<ul><li>A building qualification in either Electrical, Plumbing or Carpentry.</li><li>Competent with Microsoft IT packages to manage training records, emails and electronic calendar</li><li>Good record keeping skills</li><li>Ability to work under pressure</li><li>Organisational Skills/ Time management</li></ul>We welcome applications from candidates who currently reside in the UK with established proof of right to work documentation.
