The Council’s service operates nine residential homes which are all rated Good or Outstanding by Ofsted.</p>\n<p>As an Assistant Care Manager, you’ll support the Registered Care Manager to provide a successful service for looked after young people in one of our small group homes. You’ll support young people with complex challenges, fostering a safe and nurturing environment.</p>\n<p>You’ll manage the Residential Care team, ensuring the delivery of effective relationship-based care, as well as oversee care plans, risk assessments and daily operations. By collaborating with families, staff and agencies, you’ll provide holistic support to help young people achieve their educational and social goals.</p>\n<p>Your leadership responsibilities will include monitoring staff performance, organising training, and maintaining compliance with regulations, budgets and quality standards. When needed, you’ll also deputise for the Registered Care Manager, ensuring your group home runs smoothly.</p>\n<p><strong>The ideal candidate</strong></p>\n<p>In order to succeed in this role, you’ll hold a Level 4 or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline, with proven experience of managing staff to deliver quality care.</p>\n<p>Considerable experience working in a residential care setting is also critical for understanding the needs of our young people.</p>\n<p>You’ll also possess good understanding of relevant legislation and the standards set out in the Care Standards Act 2000 and Children’s Home Regulations.</p>\n<p>You’ll have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to fantastic outcomes for looked after children.</p>\n<p><strong>Why join Stoke-on-Trent?</strong></p>\n<p><em>“We are non-profit and fully committed to helping shape the future of our young people.
