You will be at the heart of local government, playing a key role in supporting the council’s decision-making processes. You will work as part of the Democratic Services team, administering and supporting a variety of council and partnership bodies. You will be working at the heart of the council in the Democratic and Registration Services division which encompasses three teams working closely with colleagues at all levels across the organisation.
The Democratic Services team works closely with councillors, colleagues throughout the council and external partners to ensure that decision making is timely and in accordance with the council’s Constitution as well as being clear and transparent to the residents of Bracknell Forest.

This is a voluntary position with specific requirements in accordance with the constitution of Bracknell Forest Council.

As an Independent Remuneration Panel member, you will make recommendations to Bracknell Forest Council relating to allowances. The aim of your role as a volunteer is to ensure that public funds are utilised efficiently, whilst ensuring Councillors are fairly reimbursed for their responsibilities.

The Independent Remuneration Panel consists of five members who review the allowance schemes at Bracknell Forest Council. The chair will lead the panel through each review. Bracknell Forest Council will provide administrative support to research and collate information required to support the work.

Each review you will be expected to:

<li>Consider and make recommendations on allowances within Bracknell Forest Council.</li>
<li>Attend two one-day meetings per review.</li>

As the Building Safety Manager, you will be the key point of contact for all matters related to building safety within our residential properties. Working as part of our dynamic Property Services Compliance Team, you will oversee vital safety inspections and document audits across a diverse range of properties, including:

Working in partnership with the Compliance Team, you will ensure that work orders are efficiently raised to external contractors to complete remedial works and uphold compliance obligations across key areas such as:

<li>Escalation of non-conformities to service colleagues</li>
<li>Act as subject matter expert (Building Safety) to, Project Managers and building surveyors to ensure effective delivery of the programme.</li>

 About you
The ideal candidate will need to be front facing so will have to be able to engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels and able to demonstrate change management experience.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong working knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work Act, CDM Regulations, and Fire Safety standards. They will have proven experience managing budgets, allocating resources effectively, and overseeing the maintenance and safety of high-rise buildings. A sound understanding of risk management, coupled with project management experience, is essential. Additionally, proficiency in standard office software, such as word processing and spreadsheet tools, is required, along with the ability to problem-solve and prioritise tasks in high-pressure environments. Experience in tendering works is also necessary. 
A comprehensive understanding of building structures, systems, and maintenance is vital to this role. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical knowledge in risk management, supported by effective leadership, communication, and planning skills. They will show a clear commitment to ethical conduct, professionalism, and adherence to high standards. The ability to prepare detailed reports and coordinate complex operational activities is essential. 
The role also demands high-level competencies in negotiation, change management, and strategic thinking. Analytical skills and sound decision-making capabilities are critical to ensuring effective outcomes in a dynamic working environment. A flexible and proactive approach to challenges will be a key asset, enabling the candidate to adapt and respond effectively to evolving demands. 
In terms of qualifications, candidates must hold a minimum of an HNC in a relevant field, supported by a professional qualification such as IFE, IOSH, or equivalent in Building Surveying. A full UK driving license is also a requirement for this position, given the need to travel between sites as part of the role.

We are a Respite Care Team registered with the CQC whose aims are to provide high quality support to adults with complex learning disabilities, regardless of gender, race, religion or sexual orientation. The Respite Care Team provides clients with opportunities to develop independence, build positive relationships and be empowered to make informed choices, within a person-centred approach.&nbsp; Respite Care offers brief respites to caregivers from their full-time caregiving responsibilities.&nbsp; No day may the same due to the rotation of service users requiring our service.&nbsp; Furthermore, the ideal candidate should possess the capacity to evaluate risks and devise strategies to mitigate and handle them effectively.
The working pattern will include working shift patterns including weekends and sleep-ins. A typical early shift may start at 7.00am during the week and 7.30am on Weekends and a late shift may start at 2.00pm with a 9.00pm finish or a 9.30pm finish if you are doing a sleep-in. You will be required to work two weekends in three.
You will be able to demonstrate:
