Guildford Boroufgh Council is the local authority serving a diverse urban and rural community in the heart of Surrey. Borough Councillors and officers work on devolved issues such as parks, leisure, older residents services, youth services, street scene, refuse collection, planning, social housing, homelessness and aspects of business and tourism. The Borough owns and operates significant heritage assets that include monuments such as Guildford Castle, as well museums, art collections and civic regalia. The Council also delivers a significant capital investment programme to renew and improve the Borough through best use of our assets. We are developing an entrepreneurial approach to delivering an innovative income generation model to sustain future services. Our financial plans for the coming years have recently been reviewed by Moody’s who gave us a credit rating of Aa1.

We are seeking two senior technical specialists to be part of the team which will transform our service to the communities we live in and contributes to changing the lives of our residents.

New ICT Roles

We are embarking on a challenging and exciting journey to deliver this vision for our citizens. As part of our wider transformation the ICT team has just undertaken a department wide restructure and we are now recruiting for two senior roles in our technical team to drive the delivery of the platforms which will enable us to become a recognised leader in digital delivery to our customers.

Our core technologies are the Microsoft stack with specialist line of business solutions supporting our customer base. This is an exciting time to join us and use your skills to influence an ambitious ICT transformation programme. We aim to transform both our internal and public services with the opportunity to gain significant experience including working in a regulated environment managing our accredited network and GDPR compliance.

We will be rolling out new end user computing devices, smarter ways of working and cloud solutions alongside a total core technology refresh of our infrastructure.

ICT are committed to maintaining public services during the transformation and ensuring the on-going confidentiality, integrity and availability of our systems.

The vacancies on offer are:-

  • Technical Infrastructure Team Leader - £44,443 - £50,189 per annum
  • Senior Technical Infrastructure Analyst - £39,555 - £45,355 per annum
