Job Details

Salary: £9.41 per hour + £1.30 leave allowance per hour = £10.71 per hour.

Staff required from March - October 2017 at Surrey Outdoor Learning and Development (SOLD).

Seasonal staff required - various contracts.

We require staff at Henley Fort OEC in Guildford, Thames Young Mariners (TYM) OEC, Richmond, Ham and High Ashurst, near Dorking, Surrey.

Staff may be required to work across the 3 centres. There is a possibility of staff accommodation available at TYM.

An enhanced DBS ‘Disclosure and Barring Service’ check for regulated activity (formerly known as CRB) and the Children’s and Adults’ Barred List checks will be required for this role.

We are looking for outdoor workers who are experienced in delivering high quality outdoor learning experiences. You will be a skilled facilitator, able to adapt your style to work with a variety of different clients from primary school pupils through to youth groups and graduate students. It would be beneficial to have a working knowledge of the school curriculum and how outdoor learning can benefit all aspects of education and personal development.

We are looking for individuals who have previous centre experience and hold NGB qualifications. A current first aid qualification is essential.

We are looking for people who hold at least one of the following awards:

  • BCU UKCC Level 1 or above (or equivalent qualification)
  • RYA Assistant Instructor or above
  • SPA/CWA/ERCA ropes course instructor
  • GNAS
  • MIAS level 2/British Cycling Level 2 instructor
  • A walking qualification: such as BEL/WGL/ML
  • D1/PCV minibus licence
  • Forest Schools Leader
