We are looking for someone to join our Personnel and Training Team on a 1 Year fixed term contract.
The Council is undergoing a transformation project called Customer First which will change our operating model to put the customer at the centre of everything we do and make the council fit and able to thrive in the years ahead. In the next year/18 months the Council is looking at changing all aspects of how we do things so that we can drive out the required savings to continue to provide excellent services in an environment of declining resources. Naturally, the HR department is involved in this programme and is working on 2 workstreams, People and Change and Change and Transition.
This means that the HR Team need support so that the “business as usual” can continue whilst they are involved in the Programme. Therefore, as our Payroll Assistant/HR Administrator you will be responsible for the administration of the monthly payroll , ensuring that all data is correct, up to date and all necessary checks are carried out in conjunction with our outsourced Payroll Service provider. You will also be required to carry out a variety of administration tasks including processing Local Government Pension Scheme forms, Sickness Absence Certificates, invoicing, completing government returns and surveys and other general HR administration tasks.
