Due to a period of exciting change and internal promotions, we have a number of vacancies across our Planning service!

The role

Camden is looking to recruit a qualified and experienced Planning Officer within its Development Management Service taking personal responsibility for dealing with planning applications, pre applications and appeals as required. With excellent communication skills you’ll assume responsibility for effective negotiation, stakeholder involvement and conflict resolution to ensure high quality and innovative outcomes that reflect council wide objectives and policies.

You’ll be part of a forward thinking and dynamic team ensuring the provision of a responsive, high performing and high quality service to customers.

About you

You’ll hold an RTPI accredited planning qualification, be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in Development Management, or a related planning area. With expertise in dealing with a demanding caseload of planning applications and meeting deadlines, you’ll have the ability to read complex plans and write succinct, accurate reports. You’ll have a proven track record of working within development management in a local authority environment with thorough awareness of current and draft planning legislation at local, London regional and national levels.

With excellent communication and customer care skills, you’ll work as part of a multi-disciplinary team supporting residents through delivering high quality effective services.
