If so, Mid Sussex District Council is looking for a talented and motivated Planning Investigation Officer to join our Enforcement team.&nbsp;
About the Role&nbsp;
As a Planning Investigation Officer in the Enforcement team, you will play a key role in undertaking investigations in relation to alleged breaches of planning control and enforcing the Council’s planning decisions. You will be a strong team player with a flexible approach to your work and an excellent communicator.
Key responsibilities include:&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>Managing a wide-raging caseload of investigations.</li>
<li>Negotiating resolutions to planning breaches.</li>
<li>Defending the Council’s position at appeal.</li>
<li>Ensuring that all stakeholders are kept up to date in the progress of your investigations and applications.</li>
<li>Keeping yourself up to date with changes in planning law, policy and guidance.</li>

About You&nbsp;
To excel in this role, you will need:&nbsp;

<li>A genuine interest in and enthusiasm for protecting the built and natural environment.</li>
<li>Experience in investigative work, ideally within a public facing setting.</li>
</ul>

<li>Some knowledge of planning legislation and enforcement.</li>
<li>Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide detailed technical advice and present complex information to a variety of audiences.&nbsp;</li>
