12 Month Fixed Term Contract - PO6 - £45,918 - £46,824
In addition to the salary stated above a standby allowance of £2,936 is payable for participating in the Dangerous Structure rota and you would be eligible for the essential car allowance which is £963.00pa with 40.9p per mile paid.

We are seeking an experienced Principal Building Control Surveyor to join our team. You will have a comprehensive working knowledge of current legislation (and regulatory framework provision of the building control function) with a strong background of dealing with complex and large scale projects.
You will have a sound technical knowledge including traditional techniques as well as a specialist knowledge of building control related matters such as fire engineering; structural appraisals and energy efficiency.
You must be able to carry out risk assessments and have a proven background of dangerous structure assessments and directing emergency works.
You will run your own 'patch', undertake major Building Regulation schemes across the borough and as an experienced Principal we will look to you to ensure that the team is providing high quality, customer focused and professional service to both external/internal clients, bodies and partners whilst being efficient and cost effective and fulfilling the Council’s duties with regard to building control across the borough.
The ideal candidate will be a Member of a professional body relevant to the building profession, e.g. Chartered Association of Building Engineers; Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Institution of Civil Engineers; Institution of Structural Engineers; Royal Institute of British Architects;
You must hold a full UK Driving licence and have access to a vehicle to enable you to carry out this role.
