Principal Engineer (Capital Projects) - 3 years Fixed-Term Contract
There are plenty of reasons to take a closer look at Royal Greenwich.
Royal Greenwich is undergoing a huge transformation – Crossrail is coming and we are developing land, buildings and new transport links to create a living and working destination of choice.
Our borough is a fascinating mix of green and urban areas. There is a world heritage site, historical centres, modern development and significant regeneration.
Highways and Transportation plays a key role in the regeneration of the borough – despite funding pressures in some areas of work we have a large and varied capital works programme with the aim of improving the boroughs streets, providing more sustainable modes of travel and delivering an ambitious agenda of growth.
We are looking for a Principal Engineer who can lead the delivery of a range of schemes as part of this agenda.
This is an exciting and varied role responsible for delivering a range of highway improvement, maintenance and capital works.
Who are we looking for?
The team delivers a varied range of work. You will be committed and have the ability and experience to deliver but will be part of a wider team, working in a supportive and trusting environment. No two days are the same so you’ll need to be adaptable and have the ability to work efficiently.
A key aspect will be to apply your expertise to ensure the correct engineering solutions are used in design, to see those designs through to completion and to closely monitor the construction phase, putting in place correct procedures and careful cost control arrangements.
You will ensure sound programming and financial management, good communication skills and build excellent relationships.
Now could be the time to develop your career to the next level, use your skill and knowledge to help shape the Royal Borough and to be part of an exciting and ambitious agenda.
If you would like an informal discussion about this position please contact Mark Hodgson (Head of Highways) on 020 8921 2103.
Closing Date: 6th June 2017
