Our award-winning Transport Team is recruiting.
It’s an exciting time to work in Brighton & Hove. Our city has an international reputation, growing influence and a reach far beyond its geographical size. We benefit from emerging opportunities in environmental industries, proximity to London, Gatwick Airport, two channel ports within the city region and good infrastructure links northwards. As a result the city has a growing number of exciting Development Projects, all of which have transport challenges and opportunities for our city. Could you be the person to help us make them a success?
Main advert detail
In this pivotal and influential role you will develop the transport and travel strategies, policies and programmes that shape the future of our city. You will, working with a wide range of stakeholders and partners, lead on the development of funding opportunities and bids for transport and highway-related projects as well as driving the development and design of preliminary concepts and options for programmes.
This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills. Working strategically within and beyond the city boundaries you will ensure that transport and travel remain key elements of all policies, strategies and projects that involve, or affect, the city.
Brighton & Hove is an exceptional City to live and work in. As a council, we are successful, commercially minded and forward thinking. Within City Transport we have the drive, capacity and the resources to make things happen.
In your role, we want you to feel supported, challenged and rewarded. You will benefit from our flexible working policies, generous leave entitlement, as well as access to the Local Government pension scheme and other staff benefits.
We welcome applications from all sections of the community but particularly encourage BAME, White Other, Female and Trans applicants as these groups are currently under-represented in our workforce
For an informal discussion about the post, please ring Andrew Renaut, the City Council's Head of Transport Policy & Strategy Group, on 01273-292477.
As part of Brighton & Hove City Council’s ongoing commitment to redeployment, please note that this vacancy may be withdrawn at any stage of the recruitment process, without prior notice if a suitable redeployee (internal employee at risk of redundancy) is identified.
Brighton & Hove City Council does not accept CV or resume.
