<h4>Job summary</h4>In DESNZ, we are leading the Government’s focus on being a clean energy superpower by 2030 and accelerating our transition to net zero. Consequently, our commercial landscape is very broad across entity-to-entity contracts, First of a Kind (FAOK) investments in Hydrogen and CCUS, SMR Procurements amongst many others. This role will focus on being a critical friend to Policy colleagues at the early stages of policy exploration to test multiple commercial arrangements including contracts, grants, concessional finance, equity to deliver the policy objective, whilst looking to standardise and embed knowledge management across this space. This will include negotiation advice and design. The scope of the teams included in the Chief Operating Office include HR, Marketing &amp; Communications, Corporate Performance and Corporate Security while the Finance Directorate includes Finance, Legal &amp; Governance and Commercial. The Commercial Lead for this area acts as the commercial business partner for these functions, leading on sourcing and procurement activity for these areas. In addition, the Commercial Lead is responsible for GPA contractual arrangements for contingent labour including Public Sector Resourcing, permanent recruitment and learning and development. The current contract pipeline is valued at approximately £40m. </p><p>The Commercial Lead is responsible for managing procurement and contracts for the area. This requires building relationships with senior stakeholders across teams to ensure alignment and resource management. <h4>Job summary</h4><p></p><p>In DESNZ we are leading the Government’s focus on being a clean energy superpower by 2030 and accelerating our transition to net zero. Consequently, our commercial landscape is very broad across entity-to-entity contracts, First of a Kind (FAOK) investments in Hydrogen and CCUS, SMR Procurements amongst many others. This role will focus on being a critical friend to Policy colleagues at the early stages of policy exploration to test multiple commercial arrangements including contracts, grants, concessional finance, equity to deliver the policy objective, whilst looking to standardise and embed knowledge management across this space. This will include negotiation advice and design. For someone with broad commercial experience, it presents a great opportunity to work across the full commercial lifecycle, well beyond procurement.</p><h4>Job description</h4><p>You will need to be able to build strong customer relationships and influence our internal stakeholders on the value commercial can bring. It is owned by the MOD Director General Commercial and is centrally governed by the DCGP Management Team.</p><p><br>Upon joining, you will complete induction training and embark on your Chartered Institute of Procurement &amp; Supply (CIPS) and MOD Specific training. <p><br></p><p><strong>About the role</strong></p><p>We’re looking for a Procurement Manager to lead high-value, complex procurement activity and support the development of category management strategies across the organisation. You will act as a trusted commercial advisor, ensuring compliance with procurement legislation, delivering value-for-money outcomes, and building strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.</p><p>This is a key role within our Procurement function, supporting strategic sourcing, market engagement, risk management and contract delivery.
