<h2>About the role</h2>Brighton and Hove is a vibrant and exciting place to live and work and an opportunity has arisen to join the Hospital Discharge and Response Team (DART) within the post hospital pathways and also supporting across the team when required.Both the acute hospitals and post hospital pathway arms of our wider team have seen their roles significantly evolve in recent years as we have been at the forefront of changes with the hospital’s Discharge to Assess model. This has meant our team work with people in the acute setting as well as those in community settings after a period of time in hospital. This can be either in step down beds whilst the person is benefiting from rehab or in the person’s home. We also work with those who need support to prevent a hospital admission including playing a role at the front door of the hospital by working with our health colleagues in the Emergency Department.We are a friendly and supportive team working in a busy environment; although working under pressure we maintain high professional standards of practice and are committed to ongoing professional development. The successful candidate will be expected to work across all settings and develop and maintain good relationships with key partners.&nbsp;This is an exciting opportunity to join the team which is made up of Operations Managers, Senior Social Workers, Social Workers, and Social Care Workers. The team works closely with system partners including University Hospitals Sussex, Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust and Sussex Community Foundation Trust, so effective multi-disciplinary working is essential. &nbsp;The candidate would need to have a strong leadership style in the social work field, have excellent communication skills and be solution focused under pressure and time constraints. This is a key position in the newly formed Regenerative Development and Inward Investment team. The post holder will develop evidence based policies to build regenerative place making strategy. Taking ownership of the full policy, report writing and project life cycles from getting to the root cause of issues, leading informed research, using diverse networks and insight to help shape and design council priorities.&nbsp;
As a senior management role you will work with and through the Corporate Leadership Team and Council Members to prioritise, develop, implement and deliver with continuous monitoring and evaluation of key work programmes to track, progress and measure impact and performance.
In delivering projects, your excellent communication skills will develop external partnerships and work with other directorates of the councils to lead projects. Ensuring full ownership of the project lifecycle, including preparation of business cases, procuring delivery solutions via development agreements and construction contracts.
You will hold Internal and external oversight and assurance of the programme, cost, design, quality and risk. Commissioning of specialist internal and external resources to ensure projects are delivered within and to budget, and that effective, proactive medium term financial and service strategies are in place to increase impact, reduce net costs and achieve outcomes.
