<h2>Job introduction</h2>We are looking for an experienced Event Officer to join our busy Operations team at The Brighton Centre.The post of Event Officer will be required to support the Operations Department in the day-to-day management and delivery of the Brighton Centre’s annual events programme; amounting to an average of 255 occupied event days, welcoming 250,000 leisure customers, 50,000 conference delegates and managing 125 client accounts, by acting as the on-ground Duty Manager and main contact for all client and customer queries on event days and to undertake administrative tasks and lead on project work as directed by the Operations Manager.<h2>About the role</h2>Combining a seaside location with vibrant city atmosphere, Brighton is one of England’s most accessible and compact cities for national and international events. Nestling between the rolling hills of the South Downs and the sea, the city’s Regency Squares and crescents provide a golden backdrop to the restaurants and bars, pubs and cafes and dozens of clubs and live music venues which make Brighton &amp; Hove the place to be.The Brighton Centre is an internationally known venue of considerable scale; it hosts conferences, events, exhibitions, meetings, festivals and concerts with a capacity of up to 5,500. The Brighton Centre sells in the region of 250,000 tickets per annum for its live entertainment programme consisting of approximately 90 live performances and holds on average 20 major conventions per year, amounting to a combined total of approximately 255&nbsp;occupied event days per annum. This contributes to an annual economic impact to the City of Brighton &amp; Hove of circa £1bn per annum, contributing to 18,000 jobs in the local areaThe post-holder will be an integral part of the Venues Team and will assist in the effective support, administration and delivery of a balanced programme of events within the Tourism &amp; Venues Section and the continued combined goal of enhancing the City’s position as a premier conference, entertainment and exhibition destination and as a key driver for the local economy.Brighton Centre - Event OfficerThe position of Event Officer is a fast paced and dynamic role with a requirement of high levels of attention to detail, interacting with external organisations and businesses on a domestic and international stage and directly with our customers. We are seeking to appoint an Operations Manager to join our Hospital Discharge and Response Team (DART), supporting both post-hospital pathways and wider team functions as needed.
