Nacro is a social justice charity. It helps vulnerable people to change their lives and to reach their full potential by addressing social exclusion, inequality of opportunity and deprivation. We design and deliver services that equip people with the skills, advice, attitude and support they need to move their lives on and to become part of their community. Our services cover education, housing, substance misuse treatment and the prevention of reoffending.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as part of a team of reducing re-offending workers to deliver a full range of resettlement services to offenders both in prisons and in the community.

The role will involve day to day identification of resettlement needs and the completion of resettlement plans and the delivery of resettlement services such as accommodation; education, training, employment; finance, benefit and debt services, giving appropriate tailored support to those that need it most. You will be expected to work as a team in custody, through the gate and in the community.

You must have an empathetic and supportive approach as you will be responsible for identifying resettlement needs of prisoners with multiple needs and enabling them to be involved in their own resettlement needs and in turn support them 'Through the Gate' and into the community.

Experience supporting individuals being released from custody will be an advantage. You will have a strong practical understanding of resettlement issues alongside excellent communication, time management and organisational skills. You will also have experience of promoting services and working alongside partner organisations to ensure the best possible package of support for service users.

Whilst you will, in the first instance, have a nominal base in a prison it is expected that you will be flexible in order to deliver services in custody or in the community and as such you may be required to travel between different delivery sites, which will include prisons and the community across South Yorkshire to undertake this role.

A driving licence and use of a vehicle is essential for this role.

DBS check required.

Please note that this position involves contact with serving prisoners and is subject to prison security clearance.
