Are you ready for a challenge; experience of working with older people, excellent communication skills, commitment, “can do” approach then you have the skills we are looking for our in our Residential Care Officers.

West Berkshire Council is looking to recruit Residential Care Officers for Birchwood Home which provides nursing care and care for frail elderly residents, some with dementia and challenging behaviour; we aim to offer a friendly, safe and secure environment.

We believe our residents have choices about their care, and we promote independence as much as possible. We aim to offer social and emotional support to our residents in order to meet their individual needs. Always looking for ways to enhance the service we offer we developing a 10 bed Stepdown Service in Birchwood to support people to make the move from hospital back to their own home after a period of rehabilitation at Birchwood.

This role has been identified as public facing in accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2017; the requirement to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in English applies.
