About the role: This position is full-time Monday - Friday on site by 8:00am and leaving site at 16:00pm. 
The role will primarily be working within a team of operatives in our planned team, installing new bathrooms and level access showers into a a variety of Council-owned homes including houses, flats and marionettes. This role will suit someone with experience of completing full installations of Bathrooms with the necessary skills in Carpentry/Plumbing/Tiling/ Vinyl floor laying and basic plastering. About you:

<li>The ideal candidate must be organized and able to solve problems quickly and effectively.</li>
<li>You will be required to manage your own van stock and materials and therefore will need to work methodically and allow time within your day to order and collect materials/parts.</li>
<li>Excellent communication skills in sometimes difficult circumstances</li>
<li>Skilled, highly motivated and keen to work in a fast moving and constantly evolving public sector.</li>
<li>Full valid manual driving licence</li>
<li>Ideally minimum of a full trade apprenticeship or hold a City and Guilds or NVQ Level 2 qualification in plumbing as well as other basic skills and be able to demonstrate relevant experience within the construction industry. Tiling and basic carpentry is a must, plastering/ vinyl floor laying and other trades are non-essential but preferred.</li>

<li>Asbestos awareness training would be advantageous</li>
<li>Part P electrical qualification would be of benefit but not essential</li>

Wokingham Children’s Services are looking to recruit an experienced Social Worker in the MASH Team on a Permanent Basis. The MASH Team is a fast-paced team and the Single Front Door into Children’s Services and Early Help, the role represents the wider service and is often the first point of contact for families, members of the public and professionals. Strong relational skills are key to respond to others in need, and sometimes in crisis. Most of the work undertaken will be on the phone, however the team also have a walk in service, should a family wish to present to the office for advice and support.
As a Social Worker in the MASH Team you will need to be able to process contacts within timescales and as part of this role you will speak to members of the public, professionals, and family members and provide detailed analyses and recommendations about next steps for families and complete safety planning as required.&nbsp; The MASH Team completes robust work at the front door to ensure that the correct level of support and intervention is provided, in line with the Threshold document.
The correct candidate for this role will need to have great inter-personal skills, excellent recording skills, and a sound knowledge of children’s legislation and thresholds – as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to multi-task.&nbsp; The MASH Team is currently working in a hybrid way with Social Workers on a rota basis. We need to have social work presence in the office – so a level of flexibility is required.

The MASH team is home to representatives from our partner agencies including Police and Health and refers to the virtual links we have with Housing, Probation, Education and Cranstoun Domestic Abuse &amp; Substance Misuse Services. The right candidate must work collaboratively with these agencies to make sure the child’s voice is evident through the work completed.

About the Team:
The PDOP Team works closely with other teams here at RBC who are involved with the delivery of Adult Social Care.&nbsp; The PDOP team forms part of the Living Well Service of ASC where the Mental Health and Learning Disability and Autism (LDA) team are also members.&nbsp; A Head of Service oversees all work and responsibilities of the Living Well Service.
PDOP is a multi-disciplinary team comprised of Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and Social Care Co-ordinators we provide the next step in assessment and support planning to people who are 18 years and over and have a long-term physical disability or are over 65 years old.

About the Role:
The team is focused on supporting people who require unplanned reviews of their existing care and support or have been identified by the Advice and Well Being Hub in need of ongoing care and support.&nbsp; We also undertake S.42 safeguarding enquiries and BIA assessments and carry out various legal undertakings in partnership with the Joint Legal Team.
We operate and adhere to the legal framework for adults; Care Act 2014, MCA 2005, DoLS, 2008 (and where appropriate Mental Health Act 1983 (2007), to work with people in a strengths-based way to; promote wellbeing, rights and independence, prevent the need for care and bring about timely interventions with positive outcomes.
Our aim is to be a high performing, efficient, multidisciplinary team focusing on TEAM Reading values that supports and values staff and the skills and diversity they bring to the team.

Duties include:

The Opportunity:

Residential Children’s Homes Manager – Permanent, Full Time
We have an opportunity for a Residential Children’s Homes Manager to lead and manage our brand-new, multi-building children’s home(s) within the borough.
