We work collaboratively with a range of partners to reduce the threat and fear of terrorism and wider national security threats and deliver our objectives across the 4 pillars of HM Governments CONTEST strategy - <strong>PURSUE, PREVENT, PROTECT &amp; PREPARE </strong></p><p><strong>What you’ll be doing</strong></p><ul><li>Conducting initial planning for covert counter terrorism operations.</li><li>Briefing surveillance teams and partner agencies, potentially at short notice and out of the county.</li><li>Recon potential surveillance areas, deploying assets and withdrawing them if required.</li></ul><p><strong>What you’ll need</strong></p><ul><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels.</li><li>Skills presenting factual and concise briefing on complex matter effectively.</li><li>Ability to work unsupervised and use initiative to plan/prioritise own workload.</li></ul><p><strong>Security Requirements</strong></p><p>This post requires regular access to sensitive material and applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo enhanced security clearance before taking up the post. The material may be of sensitivity to the UK and may therefore be restricted to UK nationals. In approved circumstances, dual nationals (of which one element is British) may be granted access. However, if potential conflicts of interest cannot be managed, the post holder will not be permitted access the systems or material required for the role and will not therefore be able to perform their duties. <p>Safer Communities would like to invite applications for a Security Officer. You will work within the security team who provide services for the public, other council services, schools and Council buildings.</p>
<p>You will be responsible for:</p>
<p>Monitoring CCTV cameras throughout the borough.</p>
<p>Working with various government agencies.</p>
<p>Reporting camera outages</p>
<p>Producing daily reports for Council officers.</p>
<p>Alarm handling for fire and intruder systems in the borough will also be within the role.</p>
<p>Dealing with telephone calls into the control room from the public and service users.</p>
<p>Experience of control room operations and good communication skills are required. Full training and uniform will be provided. The successful applicants must successfully pass NPPV level 2 vetting equivalent to joining police standard. The offer of a position will be dependent on the result of that vetting check.</p>

<h2>About the job</h2><h2>Purpose of the job:</h2><p>To ensure the safe and smooth transition of passengers, staff and airport users whilst maintaining the highest level of customer service and satisfaction at all times.</p><h2>Training:</h2><p>To prepare you for taking on the role, you’ll undergo a&nbsp;<strong>six-week</strong>&nbsp;training period. The&nbsp;<strong>six weeks&nbsp;</strong>are on a 09:00-17:00 Monday-Friday schedule, based at the terminal at the airport. This will consist of both classroom and operational training.</p><h2>About you</h2><h2>Eligibility criteria:</h2><p>You must be able to read, write and speak fluent English, whilst additional language skills are desirable but not compulsory. Our Security Officers are required by legislation to have full-colour vision and the capability to appropriately perform a range of duties. It’s also important that you are physically fit as the role will require you to spend periods of time sitting, standing, bending and walking. The minimum age requirement is 18 due to clearance legislation.</p><p>You will also be required to pass through a range of referencing and vetting checks, including a Criminal Record Check and Counter Terrorism Check.
