Our Team: The CCTV Operator is an essential part of Halton’s Community Safety team responsible for the continuous monitoring of public spaces via the Council’s Control Room. Working closely with the CCTV Supervisor and CCTV Manager, you will play a direct role in protecting public areas, deterring crime, and supporting the police and other emergency services. By responding swiftly to incidents, directing resources, and assisting in identifying offenders, you will help to reduce anti-social behaviour and enhance public safety, giving peace of mind to Halton’s residents. This role requires a vigilant, proactive, and dedicated individual who is ready to make a real difference in the community. As a first point of contact for a range of incidents, you will be central to creating a safer environment for our residents, businesses and visitors. Safer Communities would like to invite applications for a Control room operator. You will work within the security team who provide services for the public, other council services, schools and Council buildings.
You will be responsible for:
Monitoring CCTV cameras throughout the borough.
Working with various government agencies.
Reporting camera outages
Producing daily reports for Council officers.
Alarm handling for fire and intruder systems in the borough will also be within the role.
Dealing with telephone calls into the control room from the public and service users.
Experience of control room operations and good communication skills are required. Full training and uniform will be provided. The successful applicants must successfully pass NPPV level 2 vetting equivalent to joining police standard. The offer of a position will be dependent on the result of that vetting check.
