About Hillingdon Hillingdon Council: Putting our residents first About the job We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated individual who is able to demonstrate a commitment to providing a high quality customer service. As a Senior Benefit Officer you will deal with all aspects of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support, from advising the public on the benefits scheme to the decision making on benefit awards and payment of benefit. The ability to work under pressure and often to tight deadlines will be an essential part of your daily routine as you will be dealing with sensitive and contentious situations in a busy office and customer facing environment. About the person We arelooking for an experienced and enthusiastic assessment Senior Benefit Officer tojoin our benefit service. The successfulcandidate will be have at least two years experience in working in a HousingBenefit & Council Tax reduction environment dealing with all aspects ofclaims for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction. We are looking for a person who is customer focused with a strong desire to deliver a high quality, effective service to our customers. You will be able to interpret and convey complex legislation and procedures in an understandable manner to all service users. Accuracy and attention to detail are required and you should be able to organise, prioritise and quickly adapt to the needs of the service. It is essential that you are able to work as part of a team, and with the ability to work with a high degree of independence to achieve tight deadlines. The role will require you to assist with training, procedures and projects across the service and to deputise for team leaders when required. Experience of working with Northgate and Civica workflow would be beneficial. Additional information Interviews to be held week commencing 14 August 2017.
