About the Waltham Forest Housing Directorate.

The Housing Directorate is restructuring with a new Director and Property Services Structure. The Housing Development and Regeneration service is a new team and have a challenging programme of estate regeneration and new build sites. We have recently created Waltham Forest Development Ltd., our wholly owned development company to be the developer of our future new build programme. This is an exciting time to join our team and we welcome applications from driven, dynamic and creative individuals who share our ambitions for the borough.

Senior Development Officer PO6 (x1 Fixed Term – 18 months)

We have an ambitious work programme set out in our Redefining Waltham Forest 2020 which describes an exciting blueprint for all of our services across the Council. Our aim is to produce exemplary regeneration schemes and build a reputation for excellence and are looking for individuals that share our vision and want to help us grow and develop our service. Our existing regeneration scheme at Marlowe Road is already underway and drawing attention for our contribution to carbon reductions through the extension of neighbourhood heat networks beyond the regeneration area.

The postholder will be a key member of the Development and Regeration Team and will lead on a portfolio of projects at various stages of delivery. Key requirements will be to lead project teams of both internal and external professional staff, manage complex procurement exercises and have strong project management and negotiating skills.

We will be looking for an individual who proven experience of delivering high profile, successful projects, excellent communication skills and the ability to work to demanding deadlines.
