Newham Partnership Working (NPW)

Senior Employee Relations Advisor (Schools HR & Payroll)

£38,229 to £41,025 (PO4)

NPW is a mutual organisation formed and owned by Newham schools and working in partnership with the London Borough of Newham and other education providers. NPW is undergoing an exciting period of transformation to ensure we continue to both provide and commission outstanding services for schools.

NPW currently supports over 90 schools, both within Newham and its surrounding boroughs, with a comprehensive range of high quality services. Our support removes external range of pressures that our school leaders face, allowing them to focus on their core purpose - education.

We are currently seeking a Senior Employee Relations Advisor to provide high quality advice and support on Schools HR issues across teaching and support staff including latest policy developments and the implication of changes in employment legislation. The successful applicant will have experience of complex ER casework, knowledge of conditions of service of school staff, TUPE, working with trade unions and how education and employment legislation interrelate. They will have sharp problem solving and analytical skills, be able to work under pressure and be able to quickly earn the respect of school leaders. This post is a great opportunity to develop a wide range of HR knowledge and skills, including policy development, as part of a developing team.

Further information is available from Tom Alexander, Head of HR Operations,

Closing date is Friday 15th September 2017

Interviews will be held on Friday 6th October 2017

The schools in Newham are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Equal Opportunities

We are committed to and champion equality and diversity in all aspects of employment with Newham Partnership Working and the London Borough of Newham. All employees are expected to understand and promote equality and diversity in the course of their work.
