SCALE NS12 - £32,486 to £34,538 p.a.

In addition a Market Supplement of £3k may be available for the right candidate

An opportunity has arisen for a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or a qualified Legal Executive to join our small team.

Ideally with some local authority experience you will deal with all aspects of local government law, with emphasis on litigation, housing, advocacy and licensing. You will have effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, diplomacy and flexibility. Approachable and sensitive to the needs of the customers, elected members and employees you will be able to manage a varied workload working to competing deadlines, with the opportunity to obtain experience in a broad range of local government law and regulation. There will be a requirement to attend some evening meetings as and when required.

The district is currently experiencing a time of growth and development and we will be moving to a newly built office overlooking the castle next year. The Council is forward thinking and progressive, offering flexible and agile working and a generous annual leave package which provides a great work/life balance.

The post requires you to have regular access to a vehicle to enable you to travel within/outside the district to carry out your duties which may include (but are not restricted to) attending meetings, different work locations, conducting site and other visits and transporting heavy/bulky equipment or materials for business purposes as and when required.
