The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead has a good planning service which we are aiming to transform to excellent. We are looking to recruit a range of new staff to expand our planning team.

We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic Senior Planning Policy Officer who has the planning policy experience and drive to significantly contribute to our planning policy team.

Our Borough Local Plan is currently out to Regulation 19 Consultation following this we will be submitting it to the Planning Inspectorate and going through the process to achieve a sound plan.

As a senior officer you will work with us in achieving our Local Plan, in devising and implementing planning policy. We need a planner with excellent communication skills able to provide sound planning policy advice to colleagues in the planning service, across the Council as a whole and to members of the public and the development industry.

You would also need to be confident to work with parish councils and other community groups and the issues they raise including the production of Neighbourhood Plans.

Windsor and Maidenhead is an economically resilient and growing Borough. Located within easy access of Central London it is an attractive place for business growth and investment. The two main towns have different planning pressures; there is the culture and heritage of Windsor and the regeneration of Maidenhead. There are also smaller towns and villages, many located in the green belt, where the pressure of development is of concern to local people. This makes it a very interesting Council to be working in planning policy.

This is a great place to live and work. There are excellent transport connections to London and the West of England, with Cross Rail opening in Maidenhead in 2019.

If you think this may be a post for you please give us a ring to find out more. Contact either Helen Murch, Planning Policy Manager, on 01628 796447 or Sandra Fryer, Planning Consultant on 07791 304024.

Closing date: 1 October 2017

Applications will be reviewed as submitted and candidates will be contacted individually if called for interview.
