The Epsom Playhouse, situated in Epsom town centre, comprises a 450 seat main auditorium and the 80 seat Myers Studio Theatre.
We are seeking a skilled individual with extensive experience, to provide complex technical services to ensure professional presentation of performances and events for a rapidly growing programme of professional and community performances for its developing audience. You will be responsible for rigging, operating, and de-rigging, lighting, sound, stage and AV equipment for rehearsals and performances, health and safety, supervision of house, visiting and hirers’ technical staff, and building security.
This is a great opportunity for a highly organised individual, with a proven track record of having worked in a theatre environment. You will have significant knowledge of computerised lighting programming and operation, and sound patching and operation/live mixing for one-night events. You will lead the technical staging of productions as required, including the pantomime, will work well under pressure, and have good problem-solving skills. Excellent IT, written and verbal communication skills are essential as you will be communicating with professional companies and community hirers both on the telephone and face-to-face. You must also be able to demonstrate your ability to work effectively as part of a busy and committed team.
Flexibility is vital as you will be required to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays. You must also have your own transport as you will be required to work late into the night when public transport is not available.
If you have enthusiasm and determination to deliver a first class service then we would like to hear from you. In return you will benefit from 23 days annual leave, subsidised gym membership and car parking, entitlement to join the local government pension scheme and non-contributory life assurance.
