Hours : 28 hours per week

Make a Difference to Children, Young People and their Families in Newham.

We are looking for a Senior Young Carers Worker to join our enthusiastic and dynamic team in Newham, where we provide a range of services for families with complex needs. This is an exciting time to be joining Family Action, as we have embarked on a new and forward looking strategy of innovation and growth.

Our Newham Young Carers’ Service provides support to children and young people identified as ‘young carers' and their families, through a variety of time limited and outcome focussed interventions. The service ncludes proviing whole family support, Adult Advocacy and engagement with schools through delivering training and assemblies. We also provide a range of well attended and meaningful activities that promote well-being for children and young people, alongside whole family events to strengthen the parent child relationships.

We are looking for an individual who is degree qualified (Health, Education, Child Development, Psychology or psychotherapy) with proven experience of excellent children and young people practice skills and ability to plan and deliver a structured programme of support for children and young people that promotes their personal development, self-esteem and resilience. We would ideally like someone who has some experience of managing and supervising volunteers.
