<h4>Job summary</h4>Please refer to Job Description<h4>Job description</h4>Overview of the job Job holders will provide faith/belief and pastoral care to prisoners and staff of their own faith/belief tradition and have an understanding/knowledge of other faith/beliefs as part of a multifaith/belief chaplaincy team. Job holders will also be required to meet the pastoral needs of people of other faiths/beliefs and none. Summary The job holder will work with colleagues to ensure the delivery of PSI 05/2016 Faith and Pastoral Care for Prisoners or its successor policy framework and also the broader work of chaplaincy in delivering faith and non-faith-based courses. Will contribute to the process by which the Governor and Chaplain General/Head of Faith Services are assured that these policies are being delivered.The job holder will engage with and build contacts with their own faith/belief community towards aiding the resettlement of offenders.Takes responsibility for one’s own spiritual health and development, allowing time for private prayer/reflection, study and retreat. This is a non-rotational, non-operational job with no line management or supervisory responsibilities. Responsibilities, Activities and Duties The job holder will be required to carry out the following responsibilities, activities and duties:<ul><li>provide guidance on their faith/belief system in the establishment providing advice, pastoral care and spiritual welfare to prisoners, staff and their families as requested, liaising with their Faith and Belief Adviser (FBA) or other FBA as appropriate;</li><li>plan and lead worship/meditation, prayer and faith/belief specific meetings. Be part of the provision of available and accessible chaplaincy care at all times;</li><li>facilitate and deliver opportunities for worship/meditation, study and religious programmes. Work collaboratively with other Chaplains, the Managing Chaplain, volunteers and external groups on the maintenance and provision of facilities for worship/meditation and prayer;</li><li>contribute towards the development of local policy, procedures and practice;</li><li>provide pastoral care to prisoners and help to provide support and bring resolution to crisis situations where required. Provide mentoring and personal support for other chaplains and volunteers including following incidents;</li><li>nurture Chaplaincy volunteers in their contribution;</li><li>work with the Official Prison Visitor (OPV) Liaison Officer in promoting the scheme within the prison ensuring all prisoners are aware of it and to assist where required OPV volunteers;</li><li>ensure their prison community is aware of relevant faith/belief events and coordinate establishment support for these. Acquire and distribute appropriate faith/belief literature, artefacts and materials;</li><li>contribute to training programmes and materials for staff and volunteers. Be part of the organisation and delivery of Faith Awareness Training for staff;</li><li>represent the chaplaincy team at establishment meetings, committees etc in the absence of the Managing Chaplain;</li><li>actively support the Assessment, Care in Custody and Teamwork (ACCT) process;</li><li>attend relevant boards/meetings and actively contribute either as chair or team member;</li><li>with the agreement of the Managing Chaplain and establishment senior management team and as required, take on additional roles; e.g. Family Liaison Officer, Family Services single point of contact, volunteer coordinator etc;</li><li>be proactive in forging links with their local faith/belief communities and other agencies, as relevant and consider ways in which these communities/agencies may become involved in supporting prisoners on release;</li><li>participate in developing ways for improving and achieving targets as required, undertake and ensure that all relevant administration, data collection and analysis including relevant targets are collated; and</li><li>assist in Probation Approved Premises (APs), with offenders on release into the community, those serving community sentences or other HMPPS funded community initiatives by agreement.</li></ul>The duties/responsibilities listed above describe the post as it is at present and is not intended to be exhaustive. Family Time Deputy Manager (Full Time)

Are you passionate about making a real difference to children, we are looking for dynamic, motivated individuals to join our Empower U team as Missing Support Workers. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a focused engagement with children who have gone missing. As a Missing Support Worker, you’ll be offering, high-quality return home interviews with children who go missing sometimes as a one off or sometimes more regularly. You work will help in reducing future missing episodes, address contextual safeguarding risks and assess safeguarding concerns. Your reports will make recommendations to prevent further missing episodes based on your visit with the child. It is integral every contact is underpinned by strong engagement skills so children feel safe to talk to you and you are able to engage children who may not find that easy. You will need good people skills and experience of engaging young people effectively in creative and non-judgemental ways. You will have a caring nature and be professionally curious about why a young person has gone missing and the impact of missing on the child(ren). You will have awareness of why return home interviews are undertaken and the themes and trends around missing children. Also, your approach will be trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and culturally competent, to ensure these responsive visits are impactful and supportive even when you may only engage with this child on a one-off occasion. While you will receive good support you will work independently, mostly carrying out visits on your own. You will be required to manage your own schedule and caseload, often under tight timeframes. The role requires extensive travel across the region, so flexibility and self-motivation and self-resilience are essential. The team adopt a multi-agency approach, supporting Early Help, Safeguarding, Children in Care and Youth Justice Services; delivering bespoke and tailored interventions and programmes of education and support.We are looking for a Principal Psychologist, with significant experience of clinical leadership, service development, and working from a trauma informed, systemic and developmentally sensitive perspective. This new role will work alongside the operational team manager to provide clinical leadership for the ongoing development and delivery of this service in accordance with the evidence base and current best practice guidance.Previous experience working with children and young people with presentations relating to harmful sexual behaviour would be beneficial. However, we are also keen to hear from psychologists from other specialties with strong skills in complex formulation, assessing and managing risk, supporting teams (leadership, consultation, training), and the ability to look beyond behaviour. Experience working with children and young people who have histories of early adversity, social care or youth justice involvement, childhood trauma and or significant attachment disruption would also be desirable.The successful candidate will:<ul> <li>Support the development and delivery of this new service with an emphasis on innovation, psychologically informed practice, working to the best available evidence base, undertaking routine service evaluation and clinically relevant research as appropriate.</li> <li>Lead on the development of risk screening and management planning and support the escalation of mental health concerns and partnership working where appropriate.</li> <li>Support the professional network around the child/young person; providing psychological consultation, developing shared formulations of complex needs/presentations, contributing to safety plans, developing and delivering teaching/training and clinical supervision of others.</li> <li>Carry out specialist assessments, formulation and deliver psychological interventions to children, young people, families &amp;/or caregivers.</li></ul>Birmingham is a ‘super diverse’ city and a broad range of diverse ethnic, cultural and religious backgrounds represented in our workforce and in those we support.
