Islington Council is committed to maximising added value from its commissioning and in order to achieve this seeks a tenacious and persistent individual driven to provide creative solutions to complex challenges that will achieve outcomes. This unique opportunity does not require an individual with experience of procuring services or the legal framework, but one with excellent interpersonal, communication and an ability to engage with council departments and project sponsors in order to stay abreast of commissioning intentions. The successful candidate will have the freedom to apply their attributes to effectively engage with different departments, procuring officers to develop a thorough understanding of their ambitions for service delivery. Championing social value, you will be required to work flexibly, independently and responsively within a changing environment. We require a dynamic, resilient and opportunistic individual as they will be responsible for linking with other relevant departments and coordinating an effective approach to advising and supporting procuring officers in shaping service specifications. You will work with officers to devise effective and innovative approaches to market engagement that reaches a wider supply chain, and monitoring delivery of contracted social value outcomes. This role will also have an outward facing function, working with key strategic voluntary and community sector stakeholders to inform them of up and coming commissioning opportunities so that they are best placed to share this information with other organisations in the sector.
