The Children's Advice and Support Services (CASS) is the front door to the largest children’s service department in the country. It is playing its role in making the service thrive for excellence. It provides a specialist area of social work, whereby you have the opportunity to be part of making holistic threshold decisions using the Right Help Right Time threshold document, within tight timescales to ensure that immediate safeguarding concerns are addressed, and any relevant signposting for support is undertaken. </p><div>The pace is fast, and at CASS, we cover all of Birmingham, so you can imagine the challenges of progressing over 4000 referrals each month, that number doesn’t include the phone calls we get. We work core hours (8.45am to 5.15 pm Monday to Thursday, 8.45 to 4.15pm on Fridays), and sit with the MASH partner agencies, to continue to develop strong relationships with all those invested in safeguarding children.
