There’s also an extensive road network which provides close and easy access to the M25 and M23.</p><p><strong>About the Service and Team</strong></p><p>Adult Social Care Mental Health Team</p><p>Within our boroughwide specialist service, there are three social work teams - The Transition Team, The Learning Disability Team, and the Mental Health Team.</p><p>The Mental Health Team’s purpose is to coordinate and fulfill the Council’s statutory social care responsibilities for individuals with complex mental health needs.  We are a small but growing service, consisting of a welcoming management team (Team Manager and two Assistant Team Managers), Approved Mental Health Professionals, Social Workers and Enabling Independence Workers.  We work closely with our health colleagues in order to complete reviews under S117 as well as facilitating timely discharges from psychiatric wards for Sutton residents.  Whilst some Social Workers focus on this work, others focus on Care Act assessments and reviews for those in the community as well as completing Safeguarding enquiries, and supporting with our duty service.  </p><p>You will be joining a welcoming, supporting, hard working team who are committed to ensuring the needs of those experiencing mental health issues are met.  You will receive first class supervision and ongoing professional development opportunities.</p><p><strong>About the Role and Our Ideal Candidate</strong></p><p>Join Adult Social Care as a Social Worker and receive a Welcome Bonus* of £1000 paid in your first month's salary or a Retention Bonus* of £1000 paid for every complete year in service (*subject to pay scale). The service sits alongside the Adolescent service working with complex families in a trauma informed approach working to build trusting relationships to enable behaviour change. </p><p>The team is small but benefits from a range of specialist workers which will support the social worker to work with the child and family. We benefit from an in house CAMHS worker, Speech and Language therapist, School nurse, substance misuse worker, Education worker and access to the Therapeutic Hub. </p><p>The team is well supported through regular group supervisions as well as a fully embedded training programme for all staff and opportunities to professional development along the way. </p><p><strong>About the Role and Our Ideal Candidate</strong></p><p>In this role you will:</p><p>- Work with young people who have been to court and given a post court order or gone into custody meeting the statutory requirements of the order, keeping up to date case notes and breaching when and if required.</p><p>- You will attend court on behalf of the Youth Justice team making recommendations and producing court reports of a high standard</p><p>- You will carry out holistic assessments on the child and family, creating an intervention plan to meet their needs </p><p>-You will risk assess and work with the family and victims to ensure safer communities and reduce the risk of reoffending</p><p>-You will have a caseload of prevention cases for children who are on the periphery of criminalisation where you will work with them and their family to build a relationship and support the child with their needs </p><p>About you:</p><p>We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with children and their families to make a difference and enable behaviour change.
