An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Adoption Assessment Team East, based in Stevenage. The team sits within Hertfordshire’s Specialist Services, and you will be joining a forward thinking service that puts the outcomes for children at the heart of all we do.

We assess and prepare prospective adopters county wide for adoptive parenting, providing ongoing support through to the making of an adoption order.

You will need to be a qualified social worker including HCPC registration, have a good understanding and experience of relevant adoption regulations, legislation and of adoption practise. Robust assessment, analysis, and safeguarding skills are essential.

You will require a good awareness of developmental trauma and the impact on children and on adoptive families. Experience and facilitating group work and training will be an advantage.

We work closely with our child care teams to support permanency planning, identifying appropriate matches for children with adopters. Early linking and fostering for adoption is firmly on our agenda.

You will receive regular supervision and training and your continued professional development will be supported and encouraged.

Benefits include; lease car scheme, relocation expenses, pension scheme, generous holiday entitlement plus many more.

You will need to be able to travel independently around the county so a driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.

Interview: W/C 9th October 2017
