Vacancy Description

This is a newly-created position within a cutting-edge organisation. Building Control Solutions, currently a three-way shared service, is to become an independent trading company within the next 12-18 months. This change presents huge freedoms and opportunities, enabling us to compete with private sector companies on an equal footing.

Our ambition is simple – to be the building control service of choice for all building projects in our diverse patch, recognized for outstanding customer service and generating income of £2million per year.

About you

We are looking for an excellent leader and manager (you will be managing a team of up to ten staff) with fantastic organisational skills underpinned by sound IT capability – one of your first tasks will be to procure a new IT system.

You will be a problem solver with the drive and flair to develop and deliver our governance structures whilst developing and marketing our business. You will need excellent communication and administration skills. In addition, as the business develops, we will expect you to take on a support role for the new MD. Your impact on our business will therefore be huge – this is a key appointment for us.

You will be based in Wokingham town centre (Shute End), a short walk from the railway station and easily accessible by car (subsidised parking is available), although you will be expected to travel to our Newbury offices during the first year.
