About you
The A-Levels, Science, Higher Education Career Cluster has an opportunity for a suitably qualified part time lecturer.
The successful candidate should have a degree (or equivalent) in a related area. You should also be familiar with the current Physics curriculum and we encourage applications from teachers with a broad range of disciplines both in practice and theory.
Good interpersonal and the ability to work with and relate to students of all ages and abilities and earn their respect and help them to develop to their full potential will be highly beneficial in this role. The successful applicant must also take a student-centred approach, with the ability to offer flexible and stimulating group teaching and classroom management and motivation of students in the 16 -19 age range.
The successful applicant will coordinate the effective delivery of the Physics study programmes across various levels providing academic leadership for students, creating a curriculum that is engaging, relevant and coherent and in line with local and national priorities. As a Lecturer in Physics, you will develop and maintain up to date industry knowledge, bringing in industry professionals, where possible, that are relevant to the curriculum and the employability and skills needs of students. You will support and motivate learners to meet their individual aspiration and goals and will coordinate the tracking of learners’ achievements. In your role you will lead study programmes to attain outstanding achievement and student retention and progression.
You will have sound organisational skills, your ability to work cooperatively and contribute positively and creatively to a team is also essential.
We welcome candidates with industry experience, and you will have the opportunity to work towards a teaching qualification. The role will require you to work towards a recognised Level 4 teaching qualification (PGCE/CertEd) or be willing to work towards a Level 5 teaching qualification upon appointment.

Are you an English teacher looking for a better work-life balance? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer in English to join our stable and expanding English department. The role will involve working across our Dartford and Gravesend campuses delivering up to GCSE at Foundation level to learners as part of their vocational programme.
At North Kent College, we are very proud of our achievements within the Maths and English department, with our students achieving English GCSE and Functional Skills above the national average for the FE sector, in addition to very high attendance through our internal actions and continued support from the vocational curriculum areas. “Since moving from Primary Education to FE, I have managed to achieve a better work life balance. I teach English and I really like teaching the Edexcel English Language 2.0 exam. We are encouraged to be creative in our planning and to look at new ways of engaging students. We all share the load of planning - meaning that we plan 1 GCSE lesson every 4/5 weeks for the rest of the team. This is then adapted and delivered multiple times to a range of students. You soon get to know your classes and understand what they need. It is a revision course so there shouldn't be anything new that they haven't come across before, but we try and deliver it in a range of ways - this year we have used song lyrics and short films to engage the students. In class, we tend to give verbal feedback to students rather than written comments. We give the students opportunities to take mock papers throughout the year, as well as shorter assessment tasks. Where possible we mark these with the students, so that our marking load does not become unmanageable. We also have to provide a written progress report for students once a year. Although the teaching day is slightly longer, this is off-set by the fact that I don't need to mark 4 lots of books per day, or do parent's evenings or playground duty!! Class sizes are generally much smaller than in school too. I have found the team to be helpful and supportive and I have felt that my strengths and skills have been recognised and valued. This has been a successful and beneficial move for me.“

Hawley Woods School provides a specialist environment and support primarily for autistic children and those needing a similarly adapted approach with small classes of 6-8 pupils within our calm, nurturing setting. GENERAL INFORMATION:
As the only 11-16 all-boys academy in Sefton, Birkdale High School aims to be a beacon for outstanding practice in the education of boys and be the school of choice for all boys in the Southport community and beyond. We passionately believe that a single-sex setting at this particular stage of a boy’s education is the ideal environment for them to grow in confidence, close the attainment gap with girls and develop their love of learning. Our boys are able to mature at their own pace, supported and challenged by staff who are experts in teaching boys, and surrounded by peers to whom they can closely relate.
The Music Department is a vibrant and growing area of the school, offering a broad and inclusive curriculum that encourages creativity, performance, and technical skill development. At Key Stage 3, students receive 2 hours of Music across a fortnight. Students study a wide variety of musical styles, developing their skills in music theory, performance on a range of instruments, composition, and music technology. At Key Stage 4, we currently have over 100 students studying Music. The department delivers the BTEC Level 1/2 Tech Award in Music Practice, providing students with practical, industry-relevant experience across performance, composition, and music technology.&nbsp;
Music is well supported beyond the classroom, with approximately 120 students currently receiving instrumental&nbsp;tuition. The department offers lessons across a wide range of instruments, including guitar, drums, piano, DJ skills, woodwind, and brass, reflecting a diverse and contemporary musical culture. Students are encouraged to participate in ensembles, performances, and enrichment activities that enhance both their musical confidence and wider personal development. The department offers a range of ensembles including Big Band and Birkdale Rocks, who both perform regularly at school and external events. Working closely with our Drama department, we have recently delivered productions of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, A Night at the Musicals, and are currently working towards a performance of We Will Rock You. We also host our very popular Arts Star competition each year, which showcases the many talents of our students across Music, Art, Drama, Robotics, Engineering, Baking and Animation.&nbsp;
The Creative Department offer opportunities for students to take ownership of particular aspects of the faculty. This has led to the development of our Art Ambassadors programme and our Creative Technical Crew, with roles covering sound technicians, lighting technicians and backstage crew, who are responsible for the running of all technical aspects of our productions.&nbsp;
