Teaching Assistant - Level 2

Pay Scale - LBR4 £19,917 - £21,984 pro rata (Actual Salary - £15,242 - £16,824 for 32.5 hours per week, 44.2 weeks per year or AM only up to 20 hours a week; £9,380 - £10,353)

We are looking for an experienced and positive Teaching Assistant to join our large, friendly and very committed team of Teaching Assistants to provide individual and group interventions in our specialist Hearing Impaired unit. A willingness to manage, when necessary, the care needs of some of our children would also be a requirement. Excellent oral and written English skills are essential and a willingness to train for Level 1 British Sign Language (BSL) is desirable in order to allow you to help support identified children taught in school as part of our provision for deaf children.

Previous experience of working in either Early Years or Key Stage 1 with children with identified learning needs would be essential.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a further selection process which will include a short practical task with children, a maths test based on expected Year 6 standards and a short writing task. Only candidates successful in these tasks will proceed to a formal interview.
