The headteacher and governors of Tattenhall Park Primary wish to appoint a highly motivated, part-time HLTA (0.4) to join our warm, family orientated village school from January 2026. Our school mission statement - 'Roots to grow and wings to fly', allows our children to learn an abundance of essential knowledge in the context of their locality and they compare and contrast this knowledge, as they fly to other parts of the world. We are looking for a highly enthusiastic, experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant, who can help our team to bring our learning to life across the curriculum.
Experience of supporting teaching and learning in EYFS, Key Stage 1 and 2 is essential. You will be committed to making learning accessible, irresistible, inclusive and effective for all the children in our school.&nbsp;
This will be a two-day contract for Thursday and Fridays.&nbsp;
As HLTA, you will be qualified to and expected to plan and deliver lessons in the absence of the teacher, covering PPA time and sickness in line with the requirements of your job description.
You will need to: -

Home and Continuing Education is an Alternative Provision which caters for children who have medical needs which prevent them attending school. The Bridge School is a KS3 &amp; KS4 Pupil Referral Unit. KS3 students, receive intervention and development programs, focussed on reintegration or transition. KS4 students attend The Bridge School as part of a wider Alternative Provision timetable, challenging them to achieve appropriate accreditation in line with their abilities, and preparing them for their next steps post 16.
The school is looking for two competent and enthusiastic Community Teachers who can deliver all the core subjects (Eng/Maths/Sci) and who will ensure all youngsters develop skills and knowledge in line with their abilities and potential. You will have the ability to fire up the motivation and engagement of our young people and lead them in the direction that builds a love for learning, and meaningful accreditation.
The successful applicant will have resilience, personality and skills to engage and develop students, who may have struggled within their previous educational settings. You will be keen to identify specific strengths or barriers to learning, implementing innovative and creative strategies to remove these barriers, and invigorate participation. You will be expected to provide valuable accredited pathways which reflect individual student competencies from Foundations Level, to in most cases GCSE.
Importantly, this member of the staff team will be expected to, and required to, deliver and develop other areas of the student's overall well-being, be responsive to the emerging needs and profile of the students. Therefore, willingness or experience in teaching wider curriculum areas would be highly desirable. This role will predominantly be off-site but there may be times that you would be required to work in the school setting. Experience of writing off-site risk assessments is something that this role will require as there may be a few settings being used to deliver schoolwork.
You will have skills and personality to develop strong, professional and sustainable relationships with students, being positive, calm, resilient, consistent and reliable. Although off-site, you will be a visible participant in a team approach. Your individual and group management and communication skills need to be of a high competency. This post has responsibility for supporting the daily development of student’s social, emotional and mental health needs. You will work closely with Key Workers to support each individual student assigned to you.
