Role Purpose You will lead and manage the Housing Options Singles Team (HOST) and be responsible for ensuring the prevention of homelessness of young single people, of those with complex multiple support needs and verified rough sleepers, providing best value and bespoke housing options appropriate and suitable for these clients, having regard to the Council's statutory duties under homelessness legislation. The successful candidate will develop and manage partnerships working so as to maximise opportunities for service delivery to all complex multiple needs cohorts. You will lead and develop staff,providing clear vision and direction and setting stretch objectives and targets to meet performance requirements. Key Responsibilities You will motivate and lead the HOST Complex Team, including direct line management of a team leader and the borough's Hostel Pathways Co-Ordinator, ensuring key outputs are met and that the service is legally complaint with the homeless legislation and related case law. With a brief to develop referral and accommodation pathways, you’ll develop strong partnership-working and lead multi-agency work on addressing the needs of complex single homeless people with a wide range of partners from the Council, and elsewhere in the statutory sector and within the voluntary sector. You will work across disciplines with the Police and Health and Social Services and DWP. You will lead in ensuring the efficient use of the Council’s supported housing sector, working with commissioning partners to develop and deliver the Hostel Commissioning Plan. You will also lead for the service on partnership working to reduce offending, directly case conferencing the most serious MAPPA Offender. You will also oversee the HOST Health and Hospital specialism. Requirements You will have knowledge of best practice and innovation in the field of single homelessness and rough sleeping prevention as well as knowledge of the homelessness legislation, particularly as it relates to single people and vulnerability. The successful candidate will have the ability to lead and manage HOST, setting and delivering on ambitious team targets, drawing on an existing track record of successful management in previous roles. Excellent communication skills are a must and the ability to represent the service at a wide range of fora. You will also have prior experience of delivering successful partnerships.
