Tenancy Sustain Support Worker Job no: 494614Work type: Permanent - Full TimeLocation: Sutton SM1Department: OtherSalary: £21250 An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Tenancy Sustainment Support Worker to work with our customers in Sutton. We have one permanent position of 37.5 hours a week available. You will need to have the skills and ability to assist customers to reach their support plan objectives and reach independence; including devising person centred support plans, assessing risks to customers and staff, attending appointments, providing practical and emotional support and working with the team to provide a creative and innovative service for customers. You will hold a caseload of approximately 20-25 customers with medium-high support needs and will be responsible for carrying out initial assessments, helping to create and review support and risk management plans and for carrying out regular key-work sessions. You will be working with a range of customers including those who have mental health and substance misuse issues, ex-offenders, gypsy travellers and those who lack the skills to live independently. You will be able to manage conflict and challenging behaviour positively and support customers presenting in crisis. You require excellent time-management and organisational skills and will be part of a small team. You will also assist in running drop-in surgeries at the Civic Centre and help man our duty-line on a rota basis. Experience•Demonstrable experience of providing housing related support to vulnerable peoplesupport to live independent lives in the community Knowledge•A sound working knowledge of a variety of support interventions and techniques•A good knowledge of statutory and community services•A good knowledge of welfare benefits and a practical understanding of tenancy law•A good knowledge of Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults•A good understanding of Supporting People and Quality Assessment Framework requirements•A good understanding of equal opportunities and diversity and how these relate to the support of vulnerable people Skills•Assessment, Support Planning and Risk Assessment•Advocacy and liaison•Ability to use relevant IT software packages (e.g. spreadsheets, word processing and databases)•Excellent written and communication skills•Ability to set up and maintain easily accessible administrative systems and to plan own workload in order to meet customer need, performance targets and deadlines•Ability to work with customers in crisis and chaotic situations•Ability to engage with, motivate and encourage customers•Able to work on own initiative, as well as a committed team player•Have a proactive and customer centred approach to customer care. Circumstances•Ability to work outside of normal office hours.•Ability to drive and have use of own vehicle for work purposes.
