A School Crossing Patrols is employed to help children (and any adult who would like to be assisted) to cross the road at designated points, between specified times during term time. Uniform and training are provided. This post is term time only, with the hours on duty split across a morning and afternoon. We currently have a number of vacancies across the Borough. Expenses will be paid for travelling over 1 mile.&nbsp;

Casual staff required to act as Passenger Assistants on home to school transport for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities attending special schools and bases.
Passenger Assistants are employed to supervise children and to ensure their health and safety whilst travelling on vehicles contracted to the Authority. Casual staff will be employed to cover for sickness or leave of absence for permanent escorts employed by the Authority.
Hours will vary from 1-20 depending on the individual journey and length of time the cover is required. Passenger Assistants will work in taxis, minibuses and wheelchair accessible vehicles.

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Infrastructure Team within the LCRCA and contribute to the delivery of a modern, integrated and publicly owned transport system for the Liverpool City Region.
Investment in the city regions transport network is at a record high, and we need great people to provide (build) and, maintain transport infrastructure in support of this ‘step change’. In this role you would lead a team overseeing the maintenance of the bus stops and shelters across the LCR and lead on investment programmes to improve the quality of that same infrastructure. The role (and any projects) will be predominantly highway and traffic related in nature with an emphasis on bus travel and chiefly focussed on supporting delivery of the Combined Authority Corporate Plan and agenda around reforming bus travel (franchising). The Authority is in the midst of retendering its advertising stops and shelter contact. Therefore, there is a unique opportunity to lead and develop the contract to ensure the region is maximizing the value from that relationship in order that it contributes positively to the regions modern integrated public transport system.
About the person
We are keen to hear from people with a background and experience in leading others to manage contracts and delivery of capital works in a highway’s context. Specifically, experience of public transport infrastructure (bus stops and shelter) is desirable but not essential and we would like to speak to anyone who has a passion for ensuring the region continues to benefit from high quality and well-maintained infrastructure and encourage greater and safer use of the regions public transport network. &nbsp;&nbsp;

JOB PURPOSE
Undertake cleansing activities as required such as litter, detritus, weed and fly tipping removal.
Will be required to work in any area of the Borough, maintaining optimum cleanliness, operating equipment as necessary – training will be provided.&nbsp;
MAIN&nbsp;DUTIES
<ul>
<li>Drive and take responsibility for the assigned vehicle (up to 7.5 tonnes gross vehicle weight) and operate any power mechanisms as appropriate.</li>
<li>Clean the vehicle to the required standard, undertake regular vehicle checks (and ancillary equipment checks were appropriate), and carry out routine maintenance (see specific details on Driver’s Checklist)</li>
<li>Report any vehicle defects or accidents immediately to the appropriate person.</li>
<li>Load and unload the vehicle, using mechanical aids as necessary and ensure sufficient supplies and equipment are loaded onto the vehicle daily/weekly.</li>
<li>Complete all necessary paperwork.</li>
<li>Tip any collected rubbish/spoils/waste/etc as per the defined standards and practices.</li>
<li>Transport goods, personnel, and equipment as appropriate.</li>
<li>Undertake ancillary duties as appropriate to the type of work being done.</li>
<li>Using mobile technologies, maintain communication in accordance with the Council’s procedures and Statutory Regulations, and organise daily workloads.</li>
<li>Liaise with the Waste Management Officer as necessary to implement amendments to the route plan to ensure optimum efficiency.</li>
<li>Act as first point of contact with the Waste Management Officer to assist with the communication flow between management and staff re operational issues.</li>
<li>Ensure that crew members adhere to operational requirements i.e. Wearing of personal protective equipment.</li>
<li>Duties will be carried out for jobs up to and including those in the same grade, provided such duties are within the competence of the employee.</li>
<li>Knowledge of&nbsp;the Sefton&nbsp;borough would be advantageous.</li>
</ul>
Must have the ability to work in locations such as rear entries, removing fly tipping, animal faeces/carcass etc. and undertake all recording methods as directed by management either via paper documentation or electronic, as required.
Applicants must have the ability to demonstrate reliability, excellent punctuality and good attendance.&nbsp; A commitment to work overtime to meet the needs of the service is required.
