Role Overview
This is a&nbsp;public-facing, outdoor role&nbsp;where you’ll be responsible for helping to manage traffic flow and ensure parking regulations are followed. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys being active, working independently, and interacting with the public.
Key Responsibilities

Patrolling&nbsp;streets and car parks on foot or in a vehicle to monitor parking compliance.</li>
<li>
Issuing Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs)&nbsp;to vehicles parked in contravention of regulations.</li>
<li>
Providing assistance&nbsp;to the public, including:</li>
<ul>
<li>Directions to local attractions or services</li>
<li>Information about parking rules and locations</li>
</ul>
<li>
Reporting issues&nbsp;such as damaged signs, road hazards, or abandoned vehicles.</li>
<li>
Using handheld devices&nbsp;to record information and communicate with the team.</li>

You don’t need prior experience—full training is provided—but the following qualities are essential:

Excellent communication: You’ll be the face of the council, so being approachable and clear is key.</li>

Customer service: Helping people with a wide range of queries, not just parking-related.</li>

Physical fitness: You’ll walk several miles a day, often in varying weather conditions.</li>

We are looking for a School Crossing Patrol to ensure the safety of children, and other pedestrians, crossing the road at a designated point between specified times. The discharge of these duties must not be to the detriment of the welfare of other road users.To carry out the Council’s policy with regard to the SCP Service which includes Health and Safety Procedures.To use all uniform and equipment provided for the safety of yourself, children and all other members of the public, especially when stopping traffic on the Highway.Maintain control over children who are awaiting your instructions to cross.
