The Highways Technical Support Team oversees and controls all activity on the highway to support the aim of a safe and reliable highway network. Duties include the inspection, recording, and reporting of street works, permits, highway infrastructure, and surface defects in accordance with statutory requirements, relevant regulations, and codes of practice.&nbsp;The role also involves regular liaison with residents, businesses, parish councils, and elected members.<h2>Additional information</h2>The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA), the Traffic Management Act (TMA), and the Highways Act, along with a sound understanding of inspection procedures and standards. About the RoleWe are seeking a dynamic and experienced Works Manager to lead the operational delivery of highway works across the county. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of planned, reactive, and emergency highway maintenance and improvement programmes.As Works Manager, you will provide strategic oversight and day-to-day management of a diverse workforce, overseeing everything from winter maintenance and flooding response to structural repairs and street lighting installation.
