You will ideally have an understanding of performance, risk and reputation management whilst working within the guidelines outlined in the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974. </p>\n<p>This is a physically demanding role and you will be required to undertake basic health and safety and manual handling training. Your key tasks will be:</p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>To maintain, service and inspect a fleet, including HGV, non HGV and specialist vehicles, Heavy and light plant (including MOT programme) in accordance with legislation, manufacturer’s recommendations and with ‘O’ licence requirements.</li>\n\t<li>To work with advanced electronic diagnostic systems, interpret technical data and apply knowledge in order to carry out complex diagnosis, and repair faults in a timely manner.</li>\n\t<li>To ensure all paperwork, as required by legislation, and associated with repairs and potential insurance claims are completed compliantly and correctly signed off.</li>\n\t<li>To ensure that drivers reporting faults have carried out the appropriate paperwork and procedures.</li>\n\t<li>To undergo the necessary manufacturer’s training on vehicles and equipment and training on legislative and technical changes, in order to keep up to date with fast moving technologies and legislation.</li>\n\t<li>To maintain accurate records in order to produce records regarding vehicle and machinery repairs, as requested.</li>\n\t<li>To carry out all work independently ensuring a quality of service is maintained so that all vehicles are maintained to the highest standards to comply with health and safety requirements.</li>\n\t<li>To keep the workshop and store clean and tidy and to undertake cleaning tasks as required.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Additional information</h2><p>Please read our <a href=\"https://www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/jobs/open-vacancies-and-how-apply-brighton-hove-city-council/supporting-your-job-application/how-apply-job-council\">Apply for a job at the council</a> pages carefully.
