Working within a small team dedicated to the Recycling Centre service, you will continuously improve this essential service for the residents of Hertfordshire .<br><br> In this role, you will ensure compliance with all applicable legislation, including Environmental and Health & Safety requirements, while promoting continuous improvement in customer service, recycling performance, waste reduction, and reuse initiatives. <br><br> You will travel around the county, providing visible leadership to remote teams and conducting frequent inspections related to service provision and compliance. <br><br> Your responsibilities will include engaging with members of the public in person, over the phone, and through written communications, investigating accidents, incidents, complaints, and customer inquiries to provide thorough and reasoned responses and resolutions. <br><br> Part of this role includes challenging service users who may be fraudulently accessing free public services at the expense of taxpayers and make informed, evidence-based decisions regarding service provision on weekends on behalf of senior management. <br><br> Using initiative and creativity, you will solve complex problems within the framework of applicable legislation and council policy. Additionally, you will be responsible for the effective maintenance of infrastructure, plant, and machinery at recycling centres, ensuring clear and effective communication with contractors to maintain continuous service delivery.
