About the Job The post holder will be required to be proficient in public service tendering, contract management using the NEC 4 Suite of contracts, Manual Contracts for Highways Works, highways design, construction and maintenance. Although Project Managers will be assigned to manage the actual projects and run them on site, the post holder will need to have an overall view of the management of the contracts themselves. The post holder will need to monitor spend, KPI’s and be the lead officer for contract management queries. The Operational Services Division of Epsom &amp; Ewell Borough Council is looking for dedicated individuals to drive and supervise refuse and recycling collection vehicles, ensuring a timely, high quality, safe, friendly and efficient service to our residents.
Epsom &amp; Ewell Borough Council collects almost 120,000 refuse and recycling containers each week.&nbsp; Over half of all collected waste is recycled. You will be the primary driver of a vehicle up to 26 tonnes in support of the Council’s refuse and recycling collections. You will be responsible for its activities and crew, ensuring their safety and that all tasks are completed efficiently and within set timelines. The role provides an opportunity for the successful candidates to work outdoors as part of an enthusiastic and friendly team while enhancing the Borough, the Council and their own professional portfolio.
You will undertake daily vehicle checks, ensuring you comply with all procedures relating to its use and report any defects. You will also arrange the safe disposal of the vehicle’s contents to waste sites guaranteeing all site instructions are adhered to.&nbsp; You must also be aware of all COSHH regulations and keep up to date with new legislation by attending all training provided to you.&nbsp;&nbsp;
You must be able to work safely on your own, and methodically as part of a team as you will also be required to help the crew with emptying refuse and recycling bins. You will be flexible, as you will be required to work early mornings and bank holidays. You will be able to communicate effectively and politely with the public.&nbsp;
You must already possess a valid LGV licence category C and a valid Driver CPC qualification. You will be required to bring both your licence and Driver CPC photocards to the interview. Full, ongoing Driver CPC training is provided as part of the role.

You’ll be able to make decisions on what waste can be removed and have an awareness of manual handling as well as assisting the driver with risk assessments and working in accordance with Health &amp; Safety guidelines.
You’ll be comfortable working outside in all types of weather and be able to deal with the physical demands of the role (lifting heavy items and walking distances).

We are a registered provider of social housing, a managing agent for financial and housing management services to small landlords and we are innovating ways to make community-led housing more widespread in England.
This is a great time to join the Board at CDS. We are unique in the housing sector with our mission to provide, support and grow co-op and community-led housing. At the same time our organisation, like so many others, is grappling with a widening gap between income and costs with the pressure of higher building safety, decent homes and environmental standards added to the general economic forecast for high inflation and market volatility. But we’re also changing and growing in exciting ways: we are launching the first technology-driven, Procurement Act-complaint repairs and planned maintenance framework of its kind; we are creating a new impactful investment vehicle to provide private renters fair, resident controlled homes; and we have established the ground-breaking Co-operation in Social Housing Commission, working with the London School of Economics and others to transform the relationship between landlords and local communities. To help us boldly navigate these challenges and opportunities, we are looking for a new board member who will help us hold fast to our mission and our ambition for cooperation and community-led housing whilst being realistic and determined in how we apply our resources to the task.
This board member will also serve on our Finance, Audit &amp; Risk Committee, scrutinising and overseeing our annual budget, thirty-year business plan, internal audit programme, strategic risk register and other vitally important aspects of CDS’s governance and overall management.

Commitment

Secondment Opportunity
If you are a GLA employee applying for an internal fixed-term position, as an internal secondment opportunity, you must ensure you satisfy the following secondment policy criteria listed below before applying&nbsp;

<li>On a permanent contract or a fixed term contract where the time left on the contract at the point at which you apply for secondment is longer than the secondment period;</li>
<li>successfully completed your probation period and are performing to the required standard for your current role; and</li>
<li>at least 18 months service with the GLA&nbsp;</li>
</ul>
If you do meet the criteria listed above, you will need to complete the&nbsp;<a href="http://intranet.london.gov.uk/node/16973" target="_blank">Approval for secondment application</a>&nbsp;form and gain line manager approval, before emailing the fully completed form to the Resourcing Assistant who is managing the vacancy.&nbsp;This form must be received by the closing date of the vacancy.&nbsp;Failure to provide this form will mean your application cannot be progressed.

Job Title:&nbsp;Service Manager
Location:&nbsp;Royal Borough Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC)
Salary:&nbsp;£38,700
Shift Pattern:&nbsp;37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00. Onsite face to face service, with flexibility around these hours required. All managers, including this position will take part in the out of hours on call duty.&nbsp;

About the Service Manager Role
We have an exciting opportunity, perfect for you if you are looking to take the next step in your career within a supported housing service! This is a great opportunity for current deputy service managers, or experienced support workers (and/or equivalent) looking for that next step!&nbsp;
We're looking for a natural leader, someone with experience in supporting people who have struggled with homelessness, substance use, mental health, and/or offending backgrounds. You will be confident in your experience and knowledge and be able to use this to support and lead your team to feel empowered within their roles so they can deliver a seamless and supportive service to our residents to overcome their own personal challenges, and to achieve their personal goals and milestones.
You will have a passion for what we do, and an understanding of the multiple needs that our residents may have, and able to provide a solutions based approach in your work. This role is perfect for someone who is determined, takes pride in their work, and is able to motivate a diverse team. The role includes:

<li>Leading and motivating a team to deliver high-quality care and support</li>
<li>Managing complex situations and driving service improvements</li>
<li>Support a team who directly support individuals in their recovery journey</li>
<li>Working closely with other teams and organisations to ensure the right support is provided</li>
<li>Risk Management, Information Management, and Case Recording</li>
<li>Property and Housing Management</li>
<li>Financial Management</li>
</ul>
What we're looking for in a Service Manager:
<ul>
<li>Experience in supporting people who have multiple and complex needs including mental health, homelessness, substance use, offending backgrounds</li>
<li>Experience in frontline, and now able to empower a team to deliver a seamless service</li>
<li>Confident leadership skills and ability to inspire and motivate a team. While you’ll have support from management, this role requires someone who can take ownership and lead with confidence</li>
<li>Confidence in using IT; we use various systems and software's so need someone who is confident in learning new IT skills and can navigate around computer systems</li>
<li>Ability to drive the service forward and implement improvements</li>
<li>Confidence in managing complex situations and making decisions</li>
<li>Ability to work at pace, using initiative, making decisions, and proactiveness in your approach</li>
